Frodo: Please, what does it always mean, this... this "Aragorn"?
Elrond: That's his name. Aragorn, son of Arathorn.
Aragorn: I like "Strider."
Elrond: We named the *dog* "Strider".
A discussion of Lord of the Rings - The Return of the King. If you're a pervy hobbit fancier, this is the place for you.
Actually, though it had problems I was more entertained by
Riverworld
than not -- I particularly liked the guy they had for Sam Clemens.

last night. Thought Mortenson had good chemistry with his horse, who really was a charmer. I hope this convinces Hollywood Mortenson is leading man material so that he gets good roles in the future.
I clicked on Riverworld in the middle, channel surfing.
"Why is there a sidewheeler heading from Lorien to Amon Hen?" I confess I stayed with it for a while just hoping for more NZ scenery.
I watched a show on the National Geographic channel yesterday called "Dangerous Jobs," focusing on a Search and Rescue team on Mt. Cook in NZ's Southern Alps. Every time they did a camera pan over the mountains, I flashed back on the opening shot of TTT.
I spent Easter with my extended family, and my aunt and uncle had just returned from a trip to New Zealand not long ago. I pored over their pictures for at least an hour, going "That looks like where Gollum caught the fish! Oh, and that looks like the Ford of Rivendell!" *sigh* I wanna go there so badly!
I might get the chance in January.
Two of my friends and I are going to do a team-initiated study next January, for our short term. Which would mean we'd probably study the different ecosystems of the islands, because there are so many, which would allow us to travel all over the North and South Islands for a month. Of course, the only issue (at least with me) would be funding, because I've gone abroad for a short term once before and I'm going to Wales in the fall, but if I can get that hammered out, I'm golden. It's kind of exciting, in that far off, I don't know if this is going to work, dear god I wanna go sort of way.
Of course, the only issue (at least with me) would be funding,
Mm, isn't it always? Good luck! That's so exciting. Are your friends also LOTR geeks?
Resisting urge to sign this post "Ooooh DomDomDom!" 'cause that is exactly how I feel. I'm so 14.
tina f., the FOTR EE DVDs are the reason I fell in love with Dom in the first place. It's all Nutty's fault, of course, but it's made me very happy. You should listen to the actors' commentary, right away. And then come and laugh over tig.
(I love DOM! yes, am twelve!)
I so wish all the Hobbits could do the same commentary on the other DVDs. Dom and Billy would interrupt Sean's pomposity with stupid jokes and innuendo, and Elijah would giggle a lot.
Elijah giggling is a good thing.
