Gunn: The final score can't be rigged. I don't care how many players you grease, that last shot always comes up a question mark. But here's the thing. You never know when you're taking it. It could be when you're duking it out with the Legion of Doom, or just crossing the street deciding where to have brunch. So you just treat it like it was up to you—the world in balance—'cause you never know when it is.

LotR - The Return of the King: "We named the *dog* 'Strider'".

Frodo: Please, what does it always mean, this... this "Aragorn"? Elrond: That's his name. Aragorn, son of Arathorn. Aragorn: I like "Strider." Elrond: We named the *dog* "Strider".

A discussion of Lord of the Rings - The Return of the King. If you're a pervy hobbit fancier, this is the place for you.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

I watched a show on the National Geographic channel yesterday called "Dangerous Jobs," focusing on a Search and Rescue team on Mt. Cook in NZ's Southern Alps. Every time they did a camera pan over the mountains, I flashed back on the opening shot of TTT.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

I spent Easter with my extended family, and my aunt and uncle had just returned from a trip to New Zealand not long ago. I pored over their pictures for at least an hour, going "That looks like where Gollum caught the fish! Oh, and that looks like the Ford of Rivendell!" *sigh* I wanna go there so badly!

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

I might get the chance in January.

Two of my friends and I are going to do a team-initiated study next January, for our short term. Which would mean we'd probably study the different ecosystems of the islands, because there are so many, which would allow us to travel all over the North and South Islands for a month. Of course, the only issue (at least with me) would be funding, because I've gone abroad for a short term once before and I'm going to Wales in the fall, but if I can get that hammered out, I'm golden. It's kind of exciting, in that far off, I don't know if this is going to work, dear god I wanna go sort of way.

Mm, isn't it always? Good luck! That's so exciting. Are your friends also LOTR geeks?

Like I need a hole in my head

Resisting urge to sign this post "Ooooh DomDomDom!" 'cause that is exactly how I feel. I'm so 14.

tina f., the FOTR EE DVDs are the reason I fell in love with Dom in the first place. It's all Nutty's fault, of course, but it's made me very happy. You should listen to the actors' commentary, right away. And then come and laugh over tig.

(I love DOM! yes, am twelve!)

brillig

I so wish all the Hobbits could do the same commentary on the other DVDs. Dom and Billy would interrupt Sean's pomposity with stupid jokes and innuendo, and Elijah would giggle a lot.

Elijah giggling is a good thing.

the FOTR EE DVDs are the reason I fell in love with Dom in the first place.

My sistah in Dom love! My hobbit obsession started with the FotR EE cast commentary (I've heard it before - but a while back - and just the once) but I didn't zero in on Dom until the TT audio commentaries.

You should listen to the actors' commentary, right away.

Even though I already had, that was the first thing I did. Actually, I have spent all morning toodling about the house with the various commentaries on in the background. AIFG!!

This is my wish as well. I have to mute Sean during the TT commentaries.

I am usually unaffected by JRD - but the bit during the credits of the cast commentary for FotR where he talks about how 20 years from now people will look back on the films as one of the highlights of their movie going-lives. It caused a tear.

Right now Viggo is telling the story about the scale double not being able to swim on the "Cameras in Middle Earth" documentary. And - yes - he is weirding me out.

Art Crawl!!!

The actors commentary on FoTREE is my one true actors commentary.

I am very sad that they didn't do a joint hobbits + smeagol commentary for TTTEE -- I can only hope that they have the hobbits all together for RotKEE. Because SA's comments and the lack of Dom and Billy to smack him down ruined the actors' commentary on TTTEE for me.
