You'll fight, and you'll shag, and you'll hate each other till it makes you quiver, but you'll never be friends.

LotR - The Return of the King: "We named the *dog* 'Strider'".

Frodo: Please, what does it always mean, this... this "Aragorn"? Elrond: That's his name. Aragorn, son of Arathorn. Aragorn: I like "Strider." Elrond: We named the *dog* "Strider".

A discussion of Lord of the Rings - The Return of the King. If you're a pervy hobbit fancier, this is the place for you.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

The top ten films for the weekend, according to studio estimates compiled by Exhibitor Relations: 1. The Passion of the Christ, $51.4 million; 2. Starsky & Hutch, $29.05 million; 3. Hidalgo, $19.6 million; 4. 50 First Dates, $7.7 million; 5. Twisted, $5 million; 6. Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen, $4 million; 7. The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, $3.2 million; 8. Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights, $2.85 million; 9. Miracle, $2.6 million; 10. Monster, $2.25 million.

I can't even.

I didn't see RotK or Hidalgo this weekend. I feel like a bad fan. I was busy. I'll go this week, we promises.

I was a bad fan too.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

When will they pull it?

Not immediately after winning the Oscar. Besides it's still making money.

It'll probably be gone from the first-run theaters within a month, and then in the bargain theaters until the dvd comes out on 5/25. I just went last Monday, but I'll probably go see it again sometime this week.

My goal is an even dozen this time around! I fell apart at my viewing last Monday, so I know it still gets to me, so why not enjoy it on the big screen while I can?

Anyway, there's really nothing good in the cineplex until Eternal Sunshine comes out on the 19th.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Yeah, I need to go again. We saw Miracle last week instead, which, you know, being hockey fans was tantamount to an epic adventure. But I think I'm ready for a good dose of fantasy this week sometime soon.

That's great news about the dvd coming out early. Hope the extended one comes out soon, too. But not too soon, cause it's the Firefly effect, and I don't really want it to be over.
