Lorne: You know what they say about people who need people. Connor: They're the luckiest people in the world. Lorne: You been sneaking peeks at my Streisand collection again, Kiddo? Connor: Just kinda popped out.

LotR - The Return of the King: "We named the *dog* 'Strider'".

Frodo: Please, what does it always mean, this... this "Aragorn"? Elrond: That's his name. Aragorn, son of Arathorn. Aragorn: I like "Strider." Elrond: We named the *dog* "Strider".

Cereal--I think he's doing the Chucky thing because Brad Dourif asked him to, and he thought it would be a kick (and probably a fast few bucks, since it's just a voiceover role).

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

And David Wenham is in Van Helsing (along with Hugh Jackman, of course, and Will Kemp).

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

No, Chucky's son is a Scot. They pop up out of nowhere, kilts a-furlin' and brogues a-....umm...broguing, waiting for you to think, "Ohh, how cute!" and then their evil overlords take over Wimbledon. It's very messy--blancmouges everywhere.

USA Today has a story re: "Hidalgo's" premiere, to which Viggo invited the hobbits. Elijah and Dom arrived on stick horses they'd picked up at Toys R Us. Dom's quote: "We just found out they make noise! Listen!"

In that article, Omar Sharif described Mortensen as "an exceptional man with no defects at all."

Freakish and strange, I tells yah.

"He was nice enough to invite me tonight," Mortensen said of his ride, one of four Hidalgos used in the film. He bought the horse after filming wrapped. "I'm his date for the evening."

I saw the pics of EW and DM with the horses--very funny! And at the party afterward, someone took pics of EW surrounded by belly dancers, whom he's cheerfully ogling.

On the red carpet, John Rhys-Davies (Rings' Gimli) explained why he watched director Peter Jackson's acceptance speech at the New Line Cinema party. "We were very short of tickets," he said. "I'm an academy member, and I couldn't even get a ticket. The academy wanted four hobbits sitting near Peter, and then we had Liv (Tyler) and Ian (McKellen) presenting."
