LotR - The Return of the King: "We named the *dog* 'Strider'".

Frodo: Please, what does it always mean, this... this "Aragorn"? Elrond: That's his name. Aragorn, son of Arathorn. Aragorn: I like "Strider." Elrond: We named the *dog* "Strider".

A discussion of Lord of the Rings - The Return of the King. If you're a pervy hobbit fancier, this is the place for you.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

In that article, Omar Sharif described Mortensen as "an exceptional man with no defects at all."

Freakish and strange, I tells yah.

Hee!

"He was nice enough to invite me tonight," Mortensen said of his ride, one of four Hidalgos used in the film. He bought the horse after filming wrapped. "I'm his date for the evening."

I saw the pics of EW and DM with the horses--very funny! And at the party afterward, someone took pics of EW surrounded by belly dancers, whom he's cheerfully ogling.

On the red carpet, John Rhys-Davies (Rings' Gimli) explained why he watched director Peter Jackson's acceptance speech at the New Line Cinema party. "We were very short of tickets," he said. "I'm an academy member, and I couldn't even get a ticket. The academy wanted four hobbits sitting near Peter, and then we had Liv (Tyler) and Ian (McKellen) presenting."

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

I did wonder...I may be mistaken, but it looked as though Charlize Theron and her date, Stuart Townsend, were fairly close to PJ and the hobbits. And I wondered if there were hellos and greetings, or a mutual casual ignoring.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I did wonder...I may be mistaken, but it looked as though Charlize Theron and her date, Stuart Townsend, were fairly close to PJ and the hobbits. And I wondered if there were hellos and greetings, or a mutual casual ignoring.

All of the FotR cast that did the rehearsals with Stuart noted that they liked him a lot and had bonded with him. So I expect so.

Art Crawl!!!

That's funny that the hobby horses were just something that they picked up for the occasion. I thought that they were gifts at the Premiere!

Also, Viggo was very funny in his E! News interview -- all about falling in love with co-star, even though, you know you're not supposed etc. (meaning the horse, of course.)

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I saw that in London. It was damn cool.

Art Crawl!!!

I hear that it was (one of my friends saw it in London too.)

Also, that National Geographic Special is being repeated on MSNBC this month (from TORN):

March 7th at 9:00 p.m. March 8th at 12:00 a.m. and 3:00 a.m. March 13th at 9:00 p.m.

I assume that times are Eastern.

Oops -- I checked: those times are Central.
