Gunn: The final score can't be rigged. I don't care how many players you grease, that last shot always comes up a question mark. But here's the thing. You never know when you're taking it. It could be when you're duking it out with the Legion of Doom, or just crossing the street deciding where to have brunch. So you just treat it like it was up to you—the world in balance—'cause you never know when it is.

'Underneath'

LotR - The Return of the King: "We named the *dog* 'Strider'".

Frodo: Please, what does it always mean, this... this "Aragorn"? Elrond: That's his name. Aragorn, son of Arathorn. Aragorn: I like "Strider." Elrond: We named the *dog* "Strider".

A discussion of Lord of the Rings - The Return of the King. If you're a pervy hobbit fancier, this is the place for you.

Strawberry disappointment.

Or Treebeard. Cue wooden acting gags.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

According to MTV news, the LOTR box set is going to include audition tapes of actors who failed to make it into the cast, among them Vin Diesel and Kylie Minogue. Couldn't they cast Vin as a cave troll?

I'm curious as to which role Kylie auditioned for.

... and that's a Pantera's box you don't want to open. - Mister Furious

Hmh. See, I don't think of Vin Diesel as all that bad. I'm a huge fan of Pitch Black. He strikes me as very Rutger Hauer-ish in that he's not unskilled as an actor, he just picks really crappy movies to be in.

LoTR wise, he'da made a good Uruk Hai, or one of the wild men.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Oh, damn. He'd have been a brilliant Uruk Hai. I think the absence of Lurtz (or a Lurtzalike) was a negative in TTT.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

I'm curious as to which role Kylie auditioned for.

The green fairy?

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

I shudder to imagine Vin Diesel's attempt at an English accent. Like trying to imagine Rambo with an English accent, only without the funny.

Kylie Minogue, whatever, she's a twit, but at least she's a Commonwealth twit.

I can't even.

I'm seeing Vin as Faramir with the Tony Curtis "Yondah is da castle of mah faddah" thing going on. It's kinda working for me.

I prefer to think of Vin as Sam.

Okay, didn't see that one coming. Share?

Vin excells in the kicking of ass roles, so I figured to play to his strengths.

Mostly I just want to see him with hobbit feet.
