Zoe: What's that, sir? Mal: Freedom, is what. Zoe: No, I meant what's that? Mal: Oh. Yeah. Just step around it. I think something must've been living in here.

We're Literary 2: To Read Makes Our Speaking English Good

There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Buy yourself a shoutout.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

That's so cool.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Harry Potter meets Gorey. Spoilers for HBP.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Okay, the buying a shoutout is so very cool.

What is even happening?

It is. But it also kind of makes me want to make an icon that states, "My fandom gets shout outs for free".

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

What about an icon that says "My fandom isn't doing anything about the 1st amendment?"

I mean ... it is for charity, after all. I like my shoutout, and I'm never giving it back, but one that's involved with a good cause is hella cool.

Not that there aren't other fandoms doing charity stuff (hello, Allyson), but still. It's not a mercenary effort, and I think the donation is more important than the mention.

It's nifty to see them together.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Ian Rankin does the charity shout-out thing a lot, too.

Yes, of course. I didn't say I was right to want the icon. Just that I wanted it.
