I know I'm a bad poet, but I'm a good man. All I ask is that... is that you try to see me—

We're Literary 2: To Read Makes Our Speaking English Good

There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

"In the equation E = mc⬧, c⬧ is a pretty big honking number." - Scola

The ex gave me the first two, and I fought and clawed my way through the first one, but the second... Maybe I'll get around to it one day, but I'll have forgotten everything that happened in the first one!

Uncertainty could be our guiding light.

Is there a site anywhere that might sum up what happens in Diana Gabaldon's Outlander? I read it several years ago and want to read the next book, but can't remember what the heck really happened, other than Woman Time Travels, Woman Has Hot Sex With Man In Past, Man In Past Undergoes Woeful Trauma (and if you read the book, I think you know what I mean).

What is even happening?

Alicia, that's pretty much the book.

Ha! Excellent. I couldn't remember if there was something important I'd need to remember before starting the next book.

Because I'd forgotten most of Harry Potter 5 before starting the new one, and was so frustrated for about half of it, because I wished I'd gone and skimmed 5 again to remind myself. Outlander would not make for good skimming.

No. You might want to read the final chapter or two. It's been ages since I've read it. Do you have an LJ and if so, do you know smonster (who used to post here, mostly in Bitches, sometimes)? She *just* read it. smonster's lj. She might be able to tell you if there's anything else important. * Doesn't Claire come back to the present time at the end? I can't remember ?

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I think at the end of the first book she decides to stay. It's in the second book that she goes back. That's also where the Bad Things happen.

What is even happening?

Okay. I think I read the first three all together, and I might have a fourth (or even fifth), but it's been so long.

I never had luck finding good book recaps online. I know they must exist, but all I find is short summaries.

There's five, right?

I loved the first, liked the second, enjoyed the third even though it was a bit over the top, was kind of eh on the fourth, and haven't read the last one. I think.

Per here, [link] it looks like there's a sixth one coming out in late September.

I think I have them all then. I have never read The Fiery Cross. I can't remember if I finished Drums of Autumn.

The first three are smooshed together in my head.

Thanks for the tips! I'll reread the last few chapters and check out smonster's LJ.
