We're Literary 2: To Read Makes Our Speaking English Good

There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Y'know, I haven't even made any plans regarding that book.

Same here. I mean, I'm pretty sure that my mom will be pulling two copies from the shipment her store gets, on the slight chance that whatever bookstore I go to on the day is sold out, but I haven't pre-ordered or anything.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I'm just crossing my fingers that it works like last time -- Kat reads it Saturday and lends it to me Sunday.

Maybe I should mention that to her...

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

I ordered the book from Amazon, so it should be showing up on my doorstep in eight more days.

Me, too! I was tempted to give my money to the local independent children's bookstore (who are hosting a kickass HP day next Friday for the entire community), but they're only giving a 20% discount. Also, the idea of standing in line for an hour or so had no appeal for me whatsoever.

I'm not sure if I'll read it in one gulp that weekend, or save it

My friend Tami has threatened to beat me upside the head if I do what I did with OotP and read it in one sitting. It only took about nine hours--what's wrong with that? I figure if I tell her I'll take it to the park to read, so at least I'm getting some fresh air at the same time, she won't have cause to complain.

Ok, this seems completely normal to me. The thought of putting down an engrossing book to "save" it? Is like telling a junkie to only push the syringe down HALFway.

I love being that engrossed! All day readAthon! Sounds like fun. Throw in a basket of chilicheese fries, and I think I'd take it over an orgasm.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

DH will be at ComicCon when our copy arrives, so I get to read it first. Yay!
