Did we know that there is a musical based on Little Women?
We're Literary 2: To Read Makes Our Speaking English Good
There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."
Hey, my friend John Hickock got a good review! He's playing Professor Bhaer.
That's great!
Raquel, yes, I got it but haven't started reading it yet. Is it too dry, or will I get caught up in it? The only reason I've been avoiding it is that I try to avoid doing a lot of heavy academic reading during the school year (apart from the heavy academic reading I obviously already have to do).
are there books about Anna and Helen yet?
I'm pretty sure there aren't - I've been keeping an eye out.
We knew, Sumi, but we hadn't seen a review yet. Our daughter told us about it.
The Little Women musical had a pre-thingy at my Looniversity, and was widely enjoyed by my coworkers who attended.
It makes me laugh quite hard to think of John cast this way. In college we such a horndog that his nickname was "the Walking Erection." He's very funny and has the filthiest sense of humor anywhere. He's one of my friends from college I still hang out with.
Just gave "Last Chance to See" as a birthday present to a local environmentalist. It was co-authored by the late lamented Douglas Adams, and (in my opinion) is the funniest book on the subject of endangered species ever written.
Lyra Jane, I like Marian Keyes as well. Rachel's Holiday was pretty good. I didn't care as much for Lucy Sullivan Is Getting Married, though.
Marian Keyes came here for a reading last year, and she was just delightful.
