It makes me laugh quite hard to think of John cast this way. In college we such a horndog that his nickname was "the Walking Erection." He's very funny and has the filthiest sense of humor anywhere. He's one of my friends from college I still hang out with.

We're Literary 2: To Read Makes Our Speaking English Good
There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."
Just gave "Last Chance to See" as a birthday present to a local environmentalist. It was co-authored by the late lamented Douglas Adams, and (in my opinion) is the funniest book on the subject of endangered species ever written.
Lyra Jane, I like Marian Keyes as well. Rachel's Holiday was pretty good. I didn't care as much for Lucy Sullivan Is Getting Married, though.
Marian Keyes came here for a reading last year, and she was just delightful.

True. It's one of those, sometimes laughing, sometimes crying books for me. There's only one Adams I don't have- The Meaning of Liff.

You. Must. Get. It.
Well, actually, get the Deeper Meaning of Liff which has all of the definitions from the first book plus a lot more. The thing with that book is that for a few days afterwards you'll be walking around going "there should be a Meaning of Liff word for...(whatever commonplace thing or occurence you just noticed there's no name for). I still find myself doing that from time to time.
I still use the term Abilene to mean the coolness on the other side of the pillow. Only to myself, and not that often, since my pillow doesn't get flipped.
Still, vital word.
You're not kidding. I'm a total pillow flipper. I love Abilene
I have Tempurpedic -- it makes the Abilene useless (of course it's still there), because they're not symmetrical.
However -- grimbister -- that passell of cars on the freeway all carefully matching the speed of the cop car within? Also vital.
Speaking of D. Adams, I just started reading Hitchhiker -- for the first time -- last night. Am a little confused, but also amused.
Jealous of you Tep.
