If I only had a brain...

Joss loves Summer's feet, and so do I. They're so flexible.

"When I look at people that I would like to feel have been a mentor or an inspiring kind of archetype of what I'd love to see my career eventually be mentioned as a footnote for in the same paragraph, it would be, like, Bowie." ~Trent Reznor

Can I just say--the longest case of TV blueballs ever finally alleviated. And I mean before they even had the sex. One or two of my friends said they would've preferred if Simon had died. "No," I said. "I need him. I need Simon and Kaylee more than can possibly be healthy for me."

This has probably been mentioned, but ever notice how Joss likes to fill gaps as soon as he creates them? Wash's death means (among other things) a romance gap, as there's no couple anymore. The tension between Mal and Inara would be inappropriate to try to resolve in such short order, so into the breach go Kaylee and Simon.

And River watches. It can't count as a squick if you laugh, right?

If I only had a brain...

I wasn't very convinced by the Simon/Kaylee love scenes; I thought that was the weakest part of the plot.

Who's talking about convinced? I just needed it to happen.

...way more than can be healthy for me.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

I dunno - it squicked me and made me laugh at the same time.

She did get up to the bridge pretty quickly, though.

I did not have the problem Betsy had with the Simon/Kaylee thing. I thought it was cute, but undercut by Kaylee's matter-of-factness just enough not to be too schmoopy. However, that said, I don't know if I'd buy it if I hadn't seen the run of the series.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I liked Kaylee's joke about her vibrator.

Although I've forgotten what exactly she said.

Oh, and when they all thought they were gonna die, and Simon confessed that he regretted not boinking Kaylee, and all of a sudden she really wanted to survive the crisis... that really worked for me. (Was that where the vibrator joke came in?)

The scene at the end when they're making out and Simon is shirtless - that didn't work as well for me. I thought that Simon would be less self-confident and/or more awkward at that point.

If I only had a brain...

The vibrator joke came when Kaylee was bitching Mal out for driving Simon away.

I liked Jayne's comment after Kaylee's joke.

I forget - what was it?
