A One that isn't cold, is scarcely A One at all.

I apologize deeply. You are only reciting the propaganda plastered all over your city's back pages.

If anything it puts ones concept of fanaticism in perspective. In pregame celebration Islander and Ranger fans fought on the ice, dressed in Santa suits! Then I move out here and go to a Dodger game where you can hear the resounding roar of golf claps. People walking around in costume? Could be worse, just saying.

Pages which the Mets would surely like to grace for reasons other than their mediocrity, poor souls. Still, the team's got potential.
It's fun to root for the underdog.

I can imagine scenarios, where it's a "race to the upload button" situation, where, the button being pressed, he recognizes that his job can't be done, and, like, invites himself over to Serenity for breakfast. But that wasn't what was scripted.
I thought for sure when the Operative showed up again he was going to announce he was becoming a shepherd. Glad that didn't happen.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Since Book could have been successfully played in the movie by a non-retarded white male, it's an error to call the role, even slightly, magical in its negritude. Sometimes melanin is just melanin.

"You should never say bad things about the dead, only good… Joan Crawford is dead. Good.” —Bette Davis

Honestly I can't think of a single line or moment in the entire series or movie when Book's (or Zoe's, for that matter) race had any bearing whatsoever. Something that I applaud the creators for.

Oh, Matt, I didn't mean to cause paranoia! You certainly never said anything I found insulting.

In general, people criticizing my work or me as a writer doesn't bother me, because that's what I do and it's only fair. Pscyhoanalyzing me, and accusing me of hidden motives bugs me... unless it's really funny. And I feel like this is horribly self-absorbed so I'm gonna hush.

Psychoanalyzing and attributing hidden motives? Gosh, TWOP recappers certainly never did that.

I find it interesting that the large majority of people reviewing the movie who hadn't seen the series before liked the movie just fine. But I guess they're just Studio Yes Men.

Also? Shut up, Strega. (Or wait, are we only allowed to say that to fictional characters that annoy us?)

Kernel, it seems you're feeling very personally attacked here. However, you're getting explicitly personal, and that's not kosher.

KernelM, maybe you're trying for funny but you've crossed way over into rude.

Sorry. Was feeling venty, should have done it elsewhere.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

The apology is due in Strega's direction.

Strega - Sep 29, 2005 7:44:07 pm PDT #1423 of 1424

I wasn't speaking for other recappers. That's why I said "I" and "me."

I don't know what point you're trying to make. If you want to yell at me, feel free to email.
