Conservative, n. A statesman who is enamored of existing evils, as distinguished from the Liberal, who wishes to replace them with others. -Bierce

I thought she used her own pressure suit, but I don't understand why I am making excuses for the show. I can take comfort that as excuses go it is pretty weak.

So, that "never leave" bit. Quite a good scene.

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

(I choked up at "If it were you, we'd never leave." Yeah, I'm a huge sap.)

I thought the point of that scene was, Lee choked up.

I have to admit, I was pleased at the proper use of the subjunctive.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Okay, how exactly are they going to work a new colonel into Aquarium? Not that I at all mind the casting choice, but you'd think someone would have noticed him before.

Did they break the Stargate that got them there?

Everyone's out of ZPMs. Otherwise they wouldn't have had to fire up the Prometheus in a rescue attempt.

ita, I kind of thought that was for sure. I wasn't surprised, anyway. I guess it hadn't been confirmed though. I'm wondering about the new guy in Aquarium too. From whence he cometh? I'm guessing the Asgard or someone might lend a hand, as is their wont.

I went to gateworld.net, and they had this to say on Jack:

Series star Richard Dean Anderson will likely not be a regular on SG-1 for the first time in the show's history. The actor has been reducing his role on the show since Season Six to spend more time with his young daughter in California, but may make guest appearances in Season Nine.
