And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I haven't even seen the end of S3 yet, and already my reaction is "God, it sucks to be all of them."

It's still good angst at this point, but god. It really sucks to be all of them.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I'm watching Redemption II (I have strange holes in my viewing, it seems).

My god! I love Jonas! The way he twigged our lovely Sam to the answer!

Thrive to spite them

I wasn't a very good Farscape viewer, even a casual one, I never liked Zhaan. She tended to annoy me.

It's probably a good thing that I only watch it casually.

On the other hand I miss Jonas, he rocked. I hope he comes back through the Stargate.

I only liked Zhaan when she was naked or angry.

Jonas -- I never hated him, but that was the season I'd seen the least of. Now I miss him.

Heh. I'm watching Stargate right now, too. I remember watching this for its premiere on Showtime.

It's so strange... I've watched Stargate from the beginning, and I like the show well enough, but I've just never considered myself a fan of it, like I'm a fan of Buffy, or Angel, or LOTR. I guess that, even though I enjoy watching, it just doesn't inspire the same loyalty from me.

I think mass consumption has made me a fan. Six episodes a week, and watching them weave strange continuity webs (plus their stress on the strangest sorts of humour) got to me.

I mean, they run their cast to the edge of death all the time, and no matter if it's season one or six, I get teary -- I got prickles just now, when Col Jackson saved the day, two seasons ago.

But Buffyverse loyalty? Nope. Not even what I'd consider my XFiles or Nikita levels of loyalty. It's so much fun -- I don't want fandom to mess with that.

See, these things are making me more of fan, too. I've only watched on and off, since the inception - I would move somewhere that didn't have Showtime, then it went to cable, and I got it again, then I moved somewhere without cable, then I could watch, but Daniel was gone, then he came back...

So being able to catch stuff I've missed before, and watching the ways in which they've played with continuity, and how they've avoided a lot of the pitfalls I thought the Trek franchise kept falling prey to, has improved the show's standing with me.

(edited for clarity)

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Nope, Aeryn getting to live nonwithstanding, Zhaan's death really had no silver lining at all.

Does John Quixote count as a silver lining?
