Wesley: Hey. Hey, Gunn. Is something weird going on? … Charles, you just peed on my shoes. Gunn: I'll be damned. That's weird.

'Life of the Party'

Boxed Set, Vol. 1: Smallville, Due South, Farscape

A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much anything else that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

I was charmed (albeit somewhat perplexed) by the fannish sensibility of many of the music choices -- it's like the director was trying to vid Canada. --loligo on the Olympic Opening Ceremonies

Jars: Oh, God, is Citizen Joe awful? Tell me if it's awful. I've been pre-emptively wincing ever since I saw what they were doing; it just seems very, very likely to go horribly wrong, and piss me as a fan off.

Katie, no, it's not awful. As clip shows go, it's pretty good in fact. It had me laughing out loud at quite a few points. But it's definitely one of the 'check your brain at the door' SG episodes. It's also kind of geared towards fans as opposed to the casual viewer, though I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not.

Okay, thanks. I've been prepping myself for it being a Let's Make Fun Of The Fans Fest, so I'm glad to hear not so much.

Brain-checking is noted. Man, I'm glad the one-offs are over and stuff is going to start happening again. I suspect brain-checking will still be required, but at least they'll be blowing stuff up!

Hmm, yeah, see that's the thing. There's definitely moments where they poke fun at the fans a little. But they poke more fun at themselves, I think, so it all balances out.

Well, I guess I'll see how I feel about it, then. There's a way to do that good-naturedly, but the SG-1 PTB haven't been very good at it in the past, and frankly I'm not impressed by showrunners who feel the need to smack the hand that feeds them.

Mind you, there are some real whackaloons in SG-1 fandom. But still. it's rude.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

FYI: I just got a letter from Adelphia, with a forward from MGM about torrenting Stargate Atlantis. It got my cable internet shut off temporarily, and they say the next time I get caught it's for good.

Just so's you know they're looking.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Thanks for the heads up.

Dammit, just when I found out this thing was possible.

Is Adelphia like Azureus?

Adelphia is my cable internet provider.

MGM said "[Adelphia] may have legal and/or equitable liability if it does not expeditiously remove or disable access to the (property)(s) listed below, or if it fails to implement a policy that provides for termination of subscribers who are repeat infringers."

The tech support guy at Adelphia didn't seem to care if I kept downloading, but said that it was the sharing the upload that was the problem.

Oh. Hmmm. Well, that's discouraging. Which, is what they're going for, I guess.

ETA: And thanks.
