All is well that ends in pizza.

Alexander Siddig should be added to the Stargate cast. Maybe Janet's replacement...

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

McConnell continues to shine, I think. She's just great. And while I don't think I thought poorly of Grace at any point, I think she does some good work in the later eps, so you may see that as an improvement.

Alexander Siddig should be added to my personal life.

Agree re: McDonnell. I liked her at the beginning, and it just keeps going. Gotta say, not all that much love for Starbuck yet. And, well, I love EJO pretty much always.

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

I love Roslin. She's probably my favorite character of the lot, which is saying a lot because I like most of them quite a bit. McConnell is doing an amazing job, and so is EJO.

I like Starbuck. Of course, I've never seen the original so her being a woman doesn't bother me. The bit with Lee and the stimulant pills was adorable, I gotta say. I'm not quite at the place where I'd want fic for these two, but gimme more scenes like that, and I might.

As for Grace Park--she's had a more substantial role in ep 2, and acquitted herself decently, but I feel like... I dunno, she should have been more desperate and tortured, you know? I think a large part of it is because the actor who plays Tyrol is (I think) very good--in the reunion scene during the mini, for example, there was such look of incredible relief and joy on his face while Boomer looked just kind of glad--that she suffers in comparison.

Also, I'm loving the relationship between Roslin and Lee. She's part his commander-in-chief, part co-conspirator, and part surrogate-mother, and there is such lovely warmth between these two.

Wahh. Want next episode now.

I'm enjoying Roslin and Lee, and also Baltar and the blonde Cylon. Uh, for different reasons. I also like Roslin's assistant guy. I'm holding off final judgement on Starbuck. I mean, I've seen through 11, and I still don't love her. I'm not sure what it is. I don't dislike her in a Teyla way or anything. There's just... something. I can't tell whether it's the actress, the character, or the portrayal. Not because she's a woman, though. I didn't really watch the first one enough to be outraged by gender switches.

Speaking of Teyla. I saw the latest Atlantis. Her hair did not bother me.

That blonde Cylon has me captured. I dunno -- it's not that she's twitching my Kinsey, but I can't but think of feline strength and the resultant sexiness when I see her.

I just happened to get a link about her from a friend of mine this afternoon. Her name is Tricia Helfer.

Thrive to spite them

Sci Fi is showing 33 and Water tomorrow starting at 4pm EST, and I really need to get blank tapes so I'll get them and tape the episodes tomorrow.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I think I have the opposite take of other viewers regarding the younger ladies - I thought the Boomer actress came off as very real, but was unimpressed by Starbuck's posturing. She struck me as one of those faux-tough jingoistic Barbies from Starship Troopers transplanted amongst all the good actors.

Mary McDonnell, of course, rocks the starship.
