Boxed Set, Vol. 1: Smallville, Due South, Farscape
A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much anything else that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
a disapproving government antagonist of the Ronny Cox mold
Dude. I don't want to be looking at Ben Browder, and be overcome by the urge to gag his mouth with a dirty sock, kick him in the nuts until they retract into his abdomen, and drown him in the bottom of the Pacific Ocean.
Kinsey makes me twitch. Even the mention of his name fills me with rage. Stupid, one-dimensional cardboard suckass villain not worthy to suck Scorpius' toes.
I mean, it'd make me happy if they gave BB's character ambiguity and shady agenda (as long as they don't make him into a sexist pig who treats Sam like a girl, because then, I'll be force to reach into my TV screen and strangle him to death), but NOT IF THEY MAKE HIM LIKE KINSEY! Ptui!
::twitches::
Uhm, yeah. So, Kinsey wasn't my favorite character, is what I'm sayin'.
Hey, remember how Kinsey got fired? Good times, good times.
t ravings of a lunatic removed.
Nothing to see, moving along.
Hey, remember how Kinsey got fired?
Ohhh, yeah.

he could be with the NID. The good part of the NID, like Agent Barrett.
Yeap, except, you know, competent.
Speaking of statements being turned around, who called you a spoiler cop?
Why does it always take me a (double)post to remember my Crackberry posts on drugs?
I think the best part of the squee has been the Farscape people saying "crap, does this mean I have to watch Stargate now?"
It's very cute. I'm tempted to write up a Stargate For Farscape Fans primer, except I wouldn't feel right posting it until BB's casting shows up onscreen, so that won't be until... God, June sometime, depending on when the promos air. Hmm.
Never mind, ita, I was on crack.
All I wanted to say was that I didn't think we should be whitefonting because it was so big, and then tried to justify my calling it a spoiler by grasping for the casting spoiler definition, Without going to the FAQ and double-checking what one was.
Mea Culpa. I beg forgiveness for my pomposity.
Sigh.
OK, finally watched Fragile Balance. The kid did a good Jack. Some of it was eerily dead-on. I mean, he was doing (they had him doing) Jack being "on" the whole time, which he isn't always. So I found that a little distracting at points. But, then again, the character was in a situation that lent itself to exaggerated fits of behavior. So. And it actually did mellow a bit when they were on the ship, and I enjoyed RDA and the kid interacting.
But the kid was damn good, in any case.
I thought the team did a sweet job with the how-to-deal with a kid who is actually an adult and our superior/boss (or, cheeky subordinate, in Gen. Hammond's case), but, we can't help it, we're pretty amused aspect of things.
I, too, find it weird to have a mini-Jack roaming in the wilds. Wonder if they'll bring him back ever?
The kid did a good Jack.
Michael Welch, who played mini-Jack, is reputedly a very good mimic. I remember reading an interview where he said he just watched a few hours of SG to catch RDA's mannerisms, then boom, he nailed it, easy as pie. I liked him a lot as mini-Jack, and now, I kind of love him, after 2 years of watching him grow and turn in fabulous performances in
Joan of Arcadia.
The kid is a wonderful actor, equally adept at heavy drama as he is at comedy.
The projected Jack-lite season sounds like it would be an ideal time to bring mini-Jack back, but I guess it'll depend on Welch's availability. It'll be funny to see him back in the role, because he grew, like, a foot taller in the last two years.
