She sees Sheppard/Weir.
I am not alone, then. Excellent. Going to read her recaps. Not understanding the liking Teyla. Except, of course, I've only seen ep 11, as I've just whined about.

A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much anything else that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Sheppard/Weir isn't more wrong than Sam/Daniel -- it's just more ... dude, did you see him with McKay??? Or McKay with her, all told.
But it all pales in the face of not hating Teyla.

I'm saying. Well, you're saying. I'm agreeing.
I dont' know why, I just find Shep/Weir endearing. In the Sheppard to Weir direction, specifically. It's weird.
And from the recap of ep 11:
Kolya? You idiot! Have you seen Shep's hair?
Heh. Although, to be fair, at that point, I don't think he had, actually.
Teyla. Dude. She's just... god, she's like wonder bread. There's no there, there. No sharp edges, no anger, no nothing. Except hair that makes me want to cut off her head and hang it from the side of my chariot.

I'd pay cash money to watch, sister.
I haven't really warmed to Ford yet, either. I don't actively dislike, I just don't get much of a feeling for him. No spark. At least the hair is OK. And he's pretty.
They need a nice Fordy episode. He's cute, he's pretty, his arms are nice, I like it when gets snippy. He doesn't echo the sound of vacuum the way Teyla does -- just seems underused.
But my love for Sheppard is huge and terrible. Damn.
And I love that he's no Jack. Surface similarities, but no Jack. Still nummy, even if he can't be my #1 TV boyfriend.
But it's so weird (and an odd sort of betrayal from SOMEONE I DON'T KNOW) to be bopping along totally in the groove, and lo! She doesn't hate on Teyla when it's the only right thinking thing to do.
This is how I felt after discovering that Yahtzee had glowingly recommended an Angel/Cordelia fic as one of her favorites. It's a real "Whatchoo talkin' bout, Willis?" moment.
Underused for sure. My suspicions about why that is--still settling in to the whole acting thing, hasn't had The Chemistry with the others much--ring hollow when I think too long about it though, because, hello Teyla. Well, halfway into the first season. Tweaking a-plenty ahead, I'm sure.
Sheppard is surprisingly endearing. I say surprisingly, because my first read on him was that he might end up playing too self-satisfied, smarmy for me. Or that they were going for Jack, Jr.
I was wrong. I can admit it.
She sees Sheppard/Weir.
I kind of see it. It wasn't glaringly obvious or anything, but they had interesting power dynamic in "Hot Zone" that made me go, ooooh, that could be mined for fic in cool ways. I certainly find Shep/Weir a lot more viable & interesting than Shep/Teyla, which is sort of the officially sanctioned UST pairing.

Well, Yahtzee *wrote* several A/C fic, so no, that wasn't much of a surprise. I find reading her LJ fascinating, because while she's hella funny and smart and writes like a dream, her take on a given character/episode, etc. is often radically different from mine.
Shep/Teyla? Oh, GOD. But that's my standard Teyla response.
As for Shep/Weird -- I was kinda refreshed to read no unplatonic chemistry in Hot Zone. It was just like they were arguing. Respect, intense disagreement, and unresolved conflict. It was kinda like real life. Maybe it's because their differences seemed like they could have major impact, whereas bickering seems much more shippy.
