Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Vonnie, I don't remember it as being McKay centric. I was mostly struck by the badassification of Shep. Total smooth operator. Teyla continues to be really stupid, though.

I just watched Spooks 3x08, and I didn't so much love it. And then I went to the BBC discussion board, and bumped into a vague casting spoiler (a who, but no when). We'll see. They can buy me off with some more like 3x05 (is that the one with the cricket? ) and the one after.

I was charmed (albeit somewhat perplexed) by the fannish sensibility of many of the music choices -- it's like the director was trying to vid Canada. --loligo on the Olympic Opening Ceremonies

Ha! Yeah, badassification is a good word for it. I'm mildly bothered by the "but he's a pilot" aspect of it all, but I give SG-1 a pass so I guess I need to do the same for Atlantis.

Plus, he prowls with a gun well.

There was good McKay, and decent Weir. ita's right that Teyla was kind of stupid, and I continue to be off-and-on annoyed by the mugging on Beckett, but Ford actually got to have a little bit of a personality so that was nice.

I watched 307 and 308 last night. 307 was the one with the hacker and 308 was the one with Andy Serkis as a very bad rock star and his Courtney Love-esque wife? Right? Clearly Adam and Fiona are getting set up to be the angsty field team, which makes me grumbly because they would never have a married couple working in the same unit. But then, as my friend F said, these are the world's worst spies. *g*

I am loving what they're doing with Ruth, though. It's nice to see her get some screen time.

Badassity is to be approved of. Perhaps I will torrent.

I don't think they're quite as bad as they were when Tom was around. The tech is certainly impressive. I cast very strong aspersions against the decision in 3x07 for Danny to tell the whiny BF where Zoe was. I'm not sure what that says about me, but I am sure I'm right.

And, yeah, 3x08 definitely looks like a setup for the new couple in town getting a lot of screentime. I got a little addicted to all Danny all the time, and resent anything that changes this.

I do, but... Ah, I dunno. It seems to be the arc for those doing this work: enthusiasm followed by cynicism and humanity-fueled rebellion. I guess he felt the need for a leap of faith, and Will's accusations probably hit fairly hard. He may have felt this was atonement for bungling the business with the photographs and the brother.

That said, the photograph they sent was deeply stupid. And I'm with you on wanting more Danny, more Danny. He's simply marvelous.

Ah, he didn't bungle the photograph thing in my view. He made the same assumption that Ruth did, and Zoe didn't pause to reassess the information. I think it was presented as a reasonable conclusion (one I was rooting for, but there you go), but the wrong (and unromantic) one.

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

I didn't even know 3x08 was up! I saw the preview and said, "Hmm, that dude looks awfully familiar," and did a double-take when I recognized him.

I don't know how I feel about Adam and Fiona. On one hand, it's refreshing they're showing a married couple on a show like this, but what little I've seen of Fiona kind of grated on me.

Vonnie, Fiona gets a lot of time in 308. And yeah, I didn't recognize Andy Serkis at all, and blinked in amazement when the name scrolled by in the credits. Even then it took me a moment to realize who it was. Despite those eyes.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

You must all stop talking about Spooks until I get caught up.
