I have a plan.

Skimming skimming over the seven seas.

It's a British certification for theatrical combat. I'm not sure if there's an American equivalent.

There is, but from what I've heard the British are far far more hard core about their stage combat. Many and much more stringent requirements to advance in expertise.

Art Crawl!!!

Pfah. An experienced trampolinist with Advanced stage fighting skills should be able to pull it off.

Exactly.

The Duncan/Methos swordfights on the Highlander set could get so intense that they'd have to immediately break afterwards to make sure the actors still had all their bits attached.

All is well that ends in pizza.

I once had to swordfight in a college film, but was dissapointed the guy I was swordfighting never even picked up a tenth of what I've picked up watching swordfighting on film. I mean I had no training, but gah! Fought like his arm was jelly and his sword was grotty. Dude, I know my character wins, but the hero doesn't throw the fight.

The sad thing? He was in theater with me, and his ramrod straight posture was perfect for period costumes. What a waste without swordfighting skills.

He was a good friend, though.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

I think they should grab a stage sword on the way up, and land fighting.

Legolas could do this. Maybe Batman. Xena. After that you'd run out of candidates.

Pfft. Nightwing. Lady Shiva (the character, not Plei's cat). Current Batgirl for sure.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I recently discovered one of my krav instructors choreographs swordfighting. Which makes his presence on the Troy set more plausible. And is the indirect reason for his Scrubs appearance.

Unrelatedly, but thread-topically, I was looking askance at the Atlantis credits, with those thrusting towers, and rolling my eyes at the phallicity of it all.

Then I paused for a second and realised that every show, you have a team carrying big guns and staffs that blast diving into big wet holes time after time.

So it's all good.

Don't forget the big cylindrical shuttle that was designed so the stargate is just the right size for it to slide through when zipping back and forth.

I was charmed (albeit somewhat perplexed) by the fannish sensibility of many of the music choices -- it's like the director was trying to vid Canada. --loligo on the Olympic Opening Ceremonies

Oh God yes. Really, I have no idea why the Great Phallic/Yonic Stargate Vid hasn't been done yet, but I look forward to it.

Katie, you will holler when it goes up, yeah?

A great place to research Michael Shanks's looks.

Heh. Yes, I promise I'll let you know if it ever appears.

There's an rda_daily and a daniel_daily, too, FWIW.
