Illyria: We cling to what is gone. Is there anything in this life but grief? Wesley: There's love. There's hope...for some. There's hope that you'll find something worthy...that your life will lead you to some joy...that after everything...you can still be surprised. Illyria: Is that enough? Is that enough to live on?

Now tagless for your comfort.

Any obvious reason she couldn't take them off? Was it just for the "cut it out" joke?

I think it was for the joke. I just kept thinking when I was watching that a few hours after I had given birth, I was listening to a candy striper tell me how to pee. And Aeryn got to shoot things.

I find this unfair.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

AND do a power walk!

I chalked that up to her being a warrior -- if Peacekeeper women could keep a fetus in stasis for 7 cycles if necessary (b/c of battle), then I assume they also bounce back from labor and delivery pretty quickly.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Hey, that was a pretty good episode of Smallville right there. I liked Kid Flash.

One comic reference was bad: "Let's see if you're faster than a speeding bullet."

One comic reference was good: "...start a club, a league..."

Lana and her dude have good chemistry. The makeout scene was hotter than any time she and Clark ever kissed.

We're all getting played with, babe. -Weird Barbie

I have to say, I had written off the show, but tonight was a lot better.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Tonight was very cute indeed. Clark's still a moron (why go in at night to look at the manuscript when you have an invite to see it in 12 hours? What's going to happen? Bart only stole it to piss you off -- he could have stolen anything in the house). But he looked so happy with Lex and Bart, so much happier than any of the women have made him, and I'm not even at the HoYay yet.

I did not like the reciting of all the Flash names. And I'm still irritated by the forcing of Lana into the Kryptonian mythology. She's that lame a character she can't survive on her own without being a love interest or a tool?

Yes. Does she have a character beyond that? There are side characters on Veronica Mars who are more developed than she is.

Did anyone else, when Lana mentioned the "twelve hours of her life" she lost, say, "Bitch, please. Sydney lost TWO YEARS!"?

Oh, and did anyone else do about fifteen thousand takes when Martha referred to Clark as being SEVENTEEN? Sometimes I forget how incredibly not seventeen Tom Welling looks.

I did entirely laugh, and wonder what hairline motion that mop of locks is hiding.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Plus, wasn't Clark 15 at the beginning of the series, 3 years ago? Guess all those meteor rocks are warping the time scale, as well as the locals' genes.

Is Lana old enough to be schtupping Coach T without legal repercussions?

Huh. Seems all it takes in Kansas is 16. I want to see more nookie-with-adults, then.

Art Crawl!!!

I figured that Clark and the others (still in high school) will be turning 18 this year.
