I think if it
was
happening, especially considering recent events, it would warrant whitefont.
As is (was), I spent a while trying to work out what
else
the whitefont could have been -- since I don't italicise TV show titles, it never occurred to me it was a tag switch.
I'm wondering whether
subbed Margot Kidder for Reeve
in the proposed episode.
As in, an upcoming episode, or the one we already saw?
Upcoming. (I would guess.)
Of course, they may have intended him for the premiere. That would make sense.
I actually rather enjoyed Stargate: Aquarium. It's possible that there was too much happening, too fast, for me to notice any flaws. Time will tell. Also, bonus points for use of a Scottish accent.
I enjoyed it, too, Jars. I thought the pilot was pretty much a hoot. The character interactions kept me coming back. Not so much the plots, and, well, sometimes the characters just behave stupidly. But McKay, Beckett, sometimes Weir and Sheppard, and some of the bit players ... the Czech doc who has a teensy but amusing role in an upcoming ep, for example ... are kind of fun to watch (except when they're being stupid, but, you know, sometimes even then).
Still worried that McKay's schtick might get old, but so far I'm good with it.
I like Zelenka and Sheppard. McKay's funny but annoying. Everyone else, including Weir most of the time, is a cypher.
Teyla needs to learn about the joys of ponytails. Or at the very least, gel. Grrr, argh.

It's a little ways down under 'random other things'
I find that I like Weir's interactions with the others sometimes, but that doesn't make her an interesting character on her own. I liked the first Weir muchly - something the other actor brought to it worked for me. I feel kind of bad about it (not really; she's getting paid whether I like her or not). The actress seems competent in the role, it's just ... I almost wish I didn't have the first Weir for comparison. And, well, on a shallow note, new Weir's hair bugs me; the hair people have not done the job there. Almost bugs as much as Teyla's.
On another topic? Five days left. Whee!
I like the first actress better, too, Jen. Although this one has grown on me a bit. I don't mind her hair, either: if it's naturally curly and they're short on power/water, of course she'd let it go. But you're right that they really haven't made her that interesting: she's oddly passive, despite her position.
