Art Crawl!!!

When the teaser for tonight's Smallville came on, I was so confused because I had just watched the Season 1 repeat on Family and it was the one with the coach and the fire and suddenly -- it's all about the football team again. Very odd. I cannot believe that Lois is supposed to have been a new college Freshman. I actually think that this episode is better than I expected. . . not that I expected much. Also, I'm sad that they're doing the Teacher-Student relationship on this show too. And that Jason Teague looks so much like Whitney (when glanced at) that even the titles were Season 1 nostalgic.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Tom Welling is older than Jensen Ackles, and last night I was feeling his age more than ever before.

Something about the hair part in the flashback scene made me wonder about his hairline too.

I think that Lois looks contemporaneous with Clark. Of course, Clark looks like he has put off writing his PhD dissertation a little too long, if he looks any sort of school age at all, so that doesn't exactly help with the whole high school thing. Tom and whoever is playing Lois have more chemistry than TW and KK, so since I'm suspending disbelief about Clark's whole high school situation I figure Lois might as well come along on the ride.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

What's the time delay on white-fonting?

Just to be safe: In last week's episode, Lois mentions her mother died when she was 6 and then goes on to comment how her dad is finally involved with someone after 15 years. (She think's Chloe's pseudonym is her dad's gf at this point) which makes her 21 which is way too old to be a recently graduated senior/college freshman.

Also, wouldn't she have found out from her highschool that she didn't have enough credits instead of from the college she applied to?

Is Jensen Ackles Jason Teague?

(Also, back to Farscape -- I have digital cable and the listings on that are all frelled too -- in that they seem to be listing the show that happens in the next hour as the show that happens this hour. Also, they are listing the show with the three Crichtons as happening today when they played it yesterday. I don't know where it happens in actual chronology -- but what they are playing right now is LATP, Part 3.)

Actually, yes she should have discovered from her high school that she didn't have enough credits to graduate. And I totally missed the details of her age -- gee, I guess that the people who make SV did too.

I guess we could fanwank it that Lois was dragged along with her dad to lots of military postings, which screwed up her school attendance and promotion. But four years worth of screwed up is rather a stretch. Also, moving around a lot might account for the school not being able to get in touch with her. Although they should have been able to contact her via email since she's been in the US for at least a week or so now, investigating her cousin's "death".

The status is NOT quo.

Speaking as a high school teacher, I have three issues with this most recent episode's little Smallville plot twists:

1. Could they please please please for friggin' once not have a teen drama that involves a student in an affair with a someone who works for the school? Please? Seriously.

2. I don't care how much her school promotions have been screwed up. By the time a student hits 20, he or she is in adult ed.

3. Did I mention enough already with the nasty student/teacher-figure sex? And a blindfold in a deserted drama closet? Puh-leeze.

The fact that I am having a really rough year in general with my kids and that today has been especially frustrating probably isn't helping me tame my vitriol on these matters.

Carry on.

ooooh!! have you 'scapers seen this trailer? it's much more in depth than any other i've seen. probably shouldn't have watched it since i'm not finished with the series yet. i couldn't help myself though.

I have two eps left of season three. i'm still holding to season two being my favorite. though i do really like season three for the angst factor.
