Boxed Set, Vol. 1: Smallville, Due South, Farscape
A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much anything else that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
I may have to watch again, as I wasn't thining of the apparent ages of the people and didn't look too closely at the apparent ages of the characters.
In real life I guess he could have been her father, some people do not look old enough to be parents of 18-20 year olds at 40.
However, since parents in TV and movies are often at least two generations older than their children, it seems to create a different set of expectations.
At 51, Colm Meaney is almost old enough to be the grandfather of an adult child.
It would have to be one of those 17 year old, having a kid who at 17 had a kid, things, though...
Surly chick made me think she just
wished
she could be Eowyn.
Yeah, I very much got an Eowyn vibe when Meany told her she must stay behind to take care of the kingdom bunker, but it was wasted on her.
They never did explain how all those people could be spending all that time in close proximity to all that radiation without dying, did they?

How many generations had they been down there? I glossed over some of the finer points.
I seem to be okay with Stargate secrets. I don't have a problem with the government not revealing the existence of the goa'uld, and if the Jenni want to lie to Teyla, why the hell not? What do they owe her?
What colour is titian? I'm getting a Nancy Drew vibe off of Teyla's hairdo.
Titian is red. Named after the painter Titian, and IIRC it's a flaming, orangey, extremely bright red.
Also, a cliche people apply to red-haired people.

Good point. And my parents were 40 when I was born, so that really is my reference point. And, apparently, they are not tailoring everything to my frame of reference. Rude.
Sheppard has grown on me quite a bit. I like him. Rainbow needs to, I dunno, dial it up or something. Although, he was kind of funny last ep with the kids.
I skimmed LJ for SG commentary, and I had no idea that Aquarium was being so enjoyed.
I just think they all act dumb, even though I enjoy many of the characters. Which is an achievement, I guess.
Overall, I wasn't particularly drawn in to either show last night, although, always a pleasure to see Thor. And I do enjoy the McKay/Sheppard repartee. I see they're trying to do something about Teyla's hair. Don't think they've quite succeeded yet.
Morning all. I'm right there with you JenP. I was mainly put off by both episodes because I felt terribly, terribly mislead by the preview content. Although what happened is basically what the previews said would happen, it's not what I thought was going to happen because of what they showed. Know what I mean?
In my own personal fanwank, I was kind of hoping that the clone made on earth was actually a slightly better quality than the Asgard were making, due to process or something like that.
ION, I have XXX on TV and for some reason, I'm not changing the channel yet. What is wrong with me?
Porn? Oh, wait... xXx. That movie. Can't recall anything about it.
Stupid title.
As far as Stargate previews? I was wondering if the WB promo team took over Stargate publicity...
RE the Farscape promo:
I'm wondering if Grayza somehow has Aeryn's baby removed and implanted inside herself.
What got me thinking that is the clip where the alien chick tells Aeryn,
"You will never be reunited with your baby."
