'Objects In Space'

Boxed Set, Vol. 1: Smallville, Due South, Farscape

A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much anything else that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

I'm trying to think of something to redeem Sentinel.

Having a hard time.

Except that maybe you get some of the more obscure references in the fic.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Hey! I ENJOY Sentinel.

It's cheerfully bad. And hello? The Gay!Jim flashbacks? With the earring and the 'stache?

Priceless visual comedy,

True, but at the same time it's something of a let-down to realize Blair doesn't have big old collagen-enhanced lips and ever-moist BLUE eyes a la Frodo and silken hair to his butt and nor is Jim a giant of a man with a jaw like granite.

On the other hand, it turns out that while Blair's probably less cute than I was imagining, Jim's more. Which is too bad, because his characterization is Pure Dick.

the hardest to learn / was the least complicated

I've only seen the Mounty on the Bounty episode of Due South (and relatively recently, at that), but it was enough to make me wish tapes or DVDs were rentable at Blockbuster.

Love Farscape beyond reason.

Me and Smallville, we're of the past. Although I still think TW is a pretty, pretty man.

No Highlander, no Sentinel, no SG-1.

"They call him Slick. No! Don't ask."

Hee. I was expecting lots of weeping and Mpreg, so the fact that it had lots of snark and cheese? Blew me away.

I was charmed (albeit somewhat perplexed) by the fannish sensibility of many of the music choices -- it's like the director was trying to vid Canada. --loligo on the Olympic Opening Ceremonies

Me too. And me too. See, I'd like to see more of it in order because otherwise I'd feel strange writing fic for it. On the other hand... it would require watching more Sentinel, and so far I only tend to really enjoy the last five seconds. You know, when they do The Joking Around. Oh, and the bit at the beginning, too, where they go, "In the jungles! Of Brazil," and I always say it along with it and then feel really stupid because I'm not only watching a really bad TV show, I'm SINGING ALONG....

Well, it did lead to a couple of funny crossover snarks after the Daniel Goes To The Jungle episode of Stargate. ("Look! It's the Jungles of Peru!") Also it adds to the "what are there, like three actors in Vancouver?" factor.

Seriously, somewhere in S2 I realized it was going to be a slog. I won, though. Watched the whole damn thing, beginning to end. (Well, actually from the second episode - I saw the pilot last.) On the plus side, the guys were good-looking, and I got to think "oh, for fuck's sake" a lot about the show's choices when it came to the characterization of women.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

nor is Jim a giant of a man with a jaw like granite.

No, wait, he is!

I watched Sentinel the first time round, because I watched all genre. The second time round, I only lasted five eps.

Sentinel withdrawl is my main reason for wanting Tivo

...and getting post 69 was her main reason for wanting to post that!
