I don't know about you guys, but I've had it with super-strong little women who aren't me.

Boxed Set, Vol. 1: Smallville, Due South, Farscape

A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much anything else that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

I was charmed (albeit somewhat perplexed) by the fannish sensibility of many of the music choices -- it's like the director was trying to vid Canada. --loligo on the Olympic Opening Ceremonies

Whoa. I wish I'd seen Summit pt 2 (Last Stand?) with "Proving Ground" in mind. Also, after the one where Martouf died.

Huh. Why?

(Oh, and Emily: Yes, goes undercover, but there's an incredibly unfortunate outfit involved. On the plus side, he and Jacob have good snark.)

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Not that I'm ungrateful, mind you, but have I been such a hermit that I've missed footage of men in bed together going from a network executive's worst nightmare to a workable selling point for a show?
Going from seeing the slash to seeing it promo'd is... odd.

But a Very Good Thing.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Huh. Why?

Because (look away, Emily), Martouf's symbiote goes into the lead student from Proving Ground, and then they both die.

So, watching the SciFi channel (from which Sentinel seems to have disappeared) and find it very disconcerting to see Steve from Coupling doing the heavy-brow Untangling a Mystery look.

Oh, is Ultraviolet showing? That was my first exposure to Jack Davenport.

Oh! Right, of course. Yeah, that's one of the times that they actually build on previous episodes.

Poor Lantash. Seriously, never admit you've got the hots for Carter. It's just not safe.

Yeah, that's one of the times that they actually build on previous episodes.

They do that a lot, don't they? Teal'c got stuck in 48 Hours because he was busy finishing Tanith, 2001 follows on 2010, Absolute Power gets referred back to ... off the top of my head.

In fact, I'd say they do it a lot, without really having arcs.

Which I adore. Any Goa'uld, any doo-hickey (they also re-use the drug that was making SG1 thing there was a Lieutenant Tyler) is fair game for three years from now.

Yeah, they do, actually. It's funny, because they're so cheerfully willing to disregard canon if they decide they don't like it. ("Nope, we're doing that differently now. La la la!") But it's nice to see things come back around, whether they were set up to do so or someone just thought three years later "hey, didn't we have...?" Gives the universe something of a sense of history.

Art Crawl!!!

What's up with Farscape on Scifi?

Are they going to show the rest of Season 4 so that I might complete my tape collection? Or are they going to continue to DRIVE ME MAD???!!??

It's the latter, isn't it?

Sumi, they're (I believe) running season 4 at midnight or something on Sundays. But I'd check the schedulebot at their website to be sure.

There's some sort of Chain Reaction in October, but I forget when.
