That whole part reminded me of a porn movie I saw when I was a teenager.
I found it hystericlly funny that they carefully undid the belt buckle before slitting his shirt open with a knife.
I found it funny in the "Holy God, they're actually showing a man unbuckling Clark's belt!" way.

lana the pure wouldn't do it. even under the influence of various substances, she only teases with words.

Not just words, dude. Did you see "Nicodemus"?
Well, yeah -- but I always get the feeling she won't go there. which means I forget about the rest.
Now, I was a goody two shoes in high school . and prudish. But I knew it. Lana - the character on Smallville - is almost as Self rightous as Jonathan - the character on smallville. So Right that they have no idea when they are doing wrong.
Clark does a lot of things wrong in the name of trying to do the right thing - but he come across as a confused teenager. So he make sense.
Wait , this is Smallville I am trying to make sense of isn't it.
And they had Clark in red spandex bicycle short underwear. It was very wrong.
Ahh. See show-makers? See how much better an episode can be without a lot of Lana? So much better.
MamaKent and Clark in the BarnLoft of Solitude was sweet and I liked the first word Clark said was his mom's name thing. I have come to dread the final Loft of Solitude scene because it is always with Lana. But my dread was misfounded this ep. I haven't bothered to look at Smallville spoilers in forever - so I actually have no clue how this season will end. Sadly, I don't think it will be with Lana's dying in an unfortunate mochachino-making accident.
Did someone say Zod?
KNEEL BEFORE ZOD!
That is all. Thank you.
Color me stupid. Possibly stupider than Clark. Duh.
Not possible, as this episode demonstrated. All in all, that was an excellent episode, but how effin' dumb is Clark? Galactic-level stupidity in this episode. (Side question relating to Clark's stupidity - why doesn't Lex ever question how Clark gets to Metropolis so fast? And why doesn't Clark seem to by even trying to hide his speed anymore?)

I totally agree with this point. When I saw the BarnLoft, and someone coming up the stairs to talk to Clark, I actually groaned and thought "Oh no, more Lana", which is a frequent reaction when she appears on screen (unless she's getting trampled by a horse or something).
Maybe Lana could die and come back as a blue-haired God. Course, it'd probably be the Blue-Haired God Of All That Is Bland.
