Aw, man. I totally never got the Daniel/Janet thing. All of a sudden the "You Must Love Me" vid's got me all weepy over it.

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

Oh yeah. Poor Jonas. t snickers

Plus, Siler as R2D2! And Thor! And the expression on Daniel's face at "Luke's had a really lousy day" kills me. Oh! And the shot of Jack sprawled on the bed in the infirmary. Hee hee.

I totally never got the Daniel/Janet thing.

It's vaguely annoying when the shippers use it to pair him off with Janet so that Jack and Sam could be in twue wuv 4evah, but when I think about "Meridian", the one thing that hit me the hardest was Janet's reaction to Daniel's death. Ditto Daniel's to Janet's death in "Heroes". Plus, there were all that lovely bits between Janet and multiple-personality!Daniel from "Lifeboat", which I don't see personally as subtext-y but can be read that way if you are so inclined.

I have read a few decent Daniel/Janet fic. My favorite is probably cgb's Echoes of An Empty Place, which is set in 2010-verse. (Because I am so that episode's bitch.) I used to go, "OK, terrible, awful, slow-annihilation-of-species badness, but at least Daniel was alive in that universe.". Now Daniel's alive, but Janet is gone.

Damn, now I'm depressed. I really loved Janet.

Pam S., at Versaphile. "Dead" is really funny too.

Heh, heh. Those were funny -- that TMBG album is one of my favorites, so I particularly enjoyed Dead. And his head actually did fall off - ha!

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I'm making notes for downloading when I get home tonight.

I'm dying to do a vid based around the "1969" episode to The Chocolate Watchband's "Are You Gonna Be There (At the Love In)" because what says Stargate more than authentic psychedelic rock?

I was charmed (albeit somewhat perplexed) by the fannish sensibility of many of the music choices -- it's like the director was trying to vid Canada. --loligo on the Olympic Opening Ceremonies

Incidentally, MS and TR were putting in subtext for fun on purpose. So it's not entirely crazy.

Oh, hey, y'all should see IBS too.

*snickers* You should definitely do this.

I know this is silly, but I'm vaguely unnerved at the idea that they read the fanfiction enough to notice the trends.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Ah! Have watched Bed and Airhead.

I find it so hard to reach back and remember the throes of my Spike-adoration, but even though Jack's diluted these days, the love is still strong.

Airhead is great fun, and Bed is more than hysterical.

I love about Jack that he's impatient, pragmatic, irreverent except when it counts, uninterested in details, loyal, trustworthy and willing to kill at the drop of a dime. He has no interest in knowledge for knowledge's sake, but when push comes to shove he exercise his brain (Window Of Opportunity) as much as the next person -- I mean, if Sam or Daniel isn't around to do the work.

Half the eye rolls at him come with smiles, and few of them come with compromised trust.

It is beauty.

Plus the ubiqui-chemistry thing don't hurt.
