Who the heck is Devon?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

A bandmate of Oz's. I remember him because he's kinda cute.

He had his own ficathon.

Mind you, so did the cheeseman.

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

Vonnie, Stargate Cantina? What? Link?

Stargate Cantina (the second vid on the site) is a vid set to "Star Wars Cantina". It's insane how closely SG maps onto SW. Except for poor Teal'c, who got stuck with Chewbacca. It's frickin' priceless.

Jack (the Little Black Dress of Stargate) vid was great

Like Katie said, Jack barely got it on with anyone after S3, but what can I say? The man vibes with everyone. Seriously, and I don't mean that sexually necessarily. RDA has kick-ass chemistry with all the regulars, semi-regulars (Harry, Thor, Jacob et al.), and even random guest stars. It's uncanny, yo.

I've never got the Devon thing. He's dumb as rocks and not even that cute. Where's the appeal? As for Paul Davis--he's a cutie-pie, and like someone has said a while back, he's probably got platonic crushes on all the members of the SG-1, which is kind of adorable. But I gotta agree that the dude is pretty bland, personality-wise. I don't see much that's fanfic-worthy about him.

Yup. Whether he's meant to be sexual, antagonistic, buddies to the end .. he knocks it out of the park.

I'm thinking I haven't been this ... responsive to a TV character since Spike was interesting. And multi-pronged chemistry seems to be a common thread.

I was charmed (albeit somewhat perplexed) by the fannish sensibility of many of the music choices -- it's like the director was trying to vid Canada. --loligo on the Olympic Opening Ceremonies

and like someone has said a while back, he's probably got platonic crushes on all the members of the SG-1, which is kind of adorable.

Well, that's true. Carol S. did a Davis vid I liked to "The Impression That I Get" which plays on this.

Oooh. New ones to look at today. I thought Bed and Airhead (I know, Jack's not dumb; this vid cracked me up but good, though) on Rhian's site were great. He's just got these expressions, and Daniel with his exasperation. It works. Plus, I find the song catchy in a fun, fluffy way.

I also found a French one (there's an English version, too), which goes through Sam's past loves and their fates (complete with dripping blood font onscreen and Exorcist music), casting her as the Black Widow ... the execution is far from perfect, but parts of it made me laugh. I can probably find that link again if someone wants.

Davis is sort of striking in that they made him an all-around decent guy who just happens to be not a main characters. Most tertiary characters are either SGC staff (Good Guys but not much personality) or NID (Classic Bad Guys). Davis is supportive, non-threatening, and non-chummy. He's comfortably in his beta-dogness. So... he's sort of Mary Sue-like, in that he (alone of the AF personnel we've seen outside the SGC) gets to respond rationally rather than stereotypically to things.

Oh, the Cantina is almost as bad as Get Off. It's the transitions that send it over the top.

Poor Teal'c.

I can't wait to get home and look at Rhian's.
