Probably best that way. Especially since the biggest Bruins fan round these parts actually lives in Arkansas.
I was resigned to the loss when I saw them start backpedalling from a 3-1 lead in the series. At least their hapless playoff misfortune is no longer depriving Ray Bourque of a richly deserved Stanley Cup each year. His proxy win for Boston in 2001 should insulate me from bitterness for at least a couple more years. I'm just glad they coincidentally tend to trade for cheap but determined players that I like more often than not... Jiri Slegr, Martin LaPointe, Felix (the Cat) Potvin, Steve Shields (who's now languishing somewhere in their farm system), etc.
