Boxed Set, Vol. 1: Smallville, Due South, Farscape

A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much anything else that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Thank god, or I'd never know what season it was.

... actually, even that doesn't help that much, just gives me a rough estimate of "early" or "late". ::shrugs::

Clearly the makeup & costuming people need to learn the fun of changing hairstyles to match the character's emotional states, like on Farscape. S2 Crazy!Hair, S4 Glamour Eyebrows, and so forth.

Hey! Daniel's hair is much shorter than it used to be.

Yuh-huh. And Jack's is much grayer. They totally evolve. Sheesh.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

S4 Glamour Eyebrows

Hey -- *that's* why Aeryn was an assassin -- she wanted to get revenge on the fool who got all day-spa on her eyebrows!

I was charmed (albeit somewhat perplexed) by the fannish sensibility of many of the music choices -- it's like the director was trying to vid Canada. --loligo on the Olympic Opening Ceremonies

And Jack had that really hot period, S3-5!

To be fair, there has been some character development, particularly when it comes to Daniel. (Jack too, but as Jack's character development is at least somewhat tied to a decrease in IQ, I try to ignore it as much as possible.)

And Teal'c's face slowly loses that I-smell-something-foul look.

Yes! Which CJ must have been incredibly grateful for.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Indeed.

Thrive to spite them

I can't remember right now, but I think this is the thread where the BatFamily discussion has been (if I'm wrong I'm sorry it's late and I'm kind of blurry).

I picked up my Batgirl Year One the otehr day and am slowly working my way through it. And while I was there I wanted to pick up a few issues of Batman.

Except I didn't realise that there are several Batman titles. So, Ple, anyone, which title should I start with? (Batman Year 1 will be my next big purchase).

All is well that ends in pizza.

Maybe Adam Baldwin can play Superman...

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Except I didn't realise that there are several Batman titles. So, Ple, anyone, which title should I start with? (Batman Year 1 will be my next big purchase).

The Core Four (now that you've got the one you've got)

Batman: Year One
Robin: Year One
Batman: A Lonely Place of Dying
Robin: A Hero Reborn

After that, pick up Long Halloween and Dark Victory for early Bats, more early Dick!Robin. Hmm. Then I consult my bookshelf.

What all do you have now?
