I go online sometimes, but everyone's spelling is really bad. It's... depressing.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

The first episode I saw anything of was Reunion/Dream a Little Dream. Turned that sucker off but fast, and it took the Buffistas to convince me to give the show a second chance some time later.

You know, I didn't really think that episode was that awful (well I also like lawyer jokes), but, yeah, as a season premiere, it would have been disconcerting. I wish they had gone for it full force, though. It would have been a great "How do you keep someone in suspense?" joke.

This heart ain't gonna cut itself out

I think that they just don't follow-through well on their stories.

To put it mildly.

He had the gun in his mouth and his cell phone rang and he decided to answer it. I think it was someone telling him that Clark was in the caves. But still, I thought it was odd that he answered his phone. I would have liked something a little more dramatic. It was somewhat anticlimactic.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

Those pictures are hot in a way Welling is not. He cannot sell aloof. Or authoritative.

Heh. Two good eps tonight. I love the bit where Jack calls Daniel "space monkey." Plus they have a good leave me to die scene. And one of the Harry eps. "That'd be nice, Harry." Love Jack.

I have a Farscape question - does arc-y goodness kick in during Season 1? I'm only on ep 6 (that is, the first six on DVD) and am enjoying them ... starting to see threads, mostly character specific how they might grow things. I'm just arc's bitch, so ... curious.

I particularly liked Aeryn doing the scientific investigation thing in the ep with frozen Rygel (I can't pretend to remember titles yet) - she had a whole, subtle, pleased with herself in an endearing way vibe going on. Like, "Hey, check me out. I'm smart. Go me." Also, my lawd she is just one of those naturally stunning women, isn't she? The kind where make-up, no make-up, hair done, hair in a ponytail - whatever - equally beautiful. Those eyes? Wow.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

does arc-y goodness kick in during Season 1

Yes. Some arc-important plot points are established pretty soon (They've Got a Secret, PK Tech Girl, A Human Reaction). The "main" arc of S1 really takes off with episode 18, A Bug's Life. But the set up comes earlier, even if you can't really tell.

S2 goes back and forth between arc and one-off, but the psychological arc runs straight through the season. The arc-related stuff will show up in spurts and fits, and then they'll end the season with a blowout of arcish fun. Lots of angst and explosions.
