Rene Aubergonois can do marvellous things with his voice. It's a bit of a wonder how expressive he can be using with only his eyes and his voice, what with his entire face hidden behind a rubber mask. I think Odo might be my favorite character of the lot.

All you need is a bad luck of the draw in a multifandom flashfic-a-thon or another (there are so many of those things nowadays, I can't keep them straight), and there it'll be, staring at your face. Or you may be dog-dared by someone to write SG fic, and you shall have no choice but to rise to the challenge, with your reputation as a multifandom crack-ho at stake. Oh yes. I love DS9. It was the first scifi show that I really considered myself a fan for.

There is, but it's unfortunately not proportionate to the good fic like in other fandoms. Not very many (read: any) good writers are in the fandom, which is even fewer now that its been over for a few years. It's kind of depressing.

I think Quark's covered stuff that couldn't be replicated well, and gave a place for everyone to interact that they didn't mind spending their money. Or something. It's hard to retcon.

That is (in my opinion) much easier to accept. Replicated clothing probably couldn't match what Garak could come up with, unless you were really talanted at programming the replicator.

Your law firm might give you free alcohol. I still have to pay for the stuff I drink at home. If I go to a bar, along with ambience, I also get access to ingredients I might not want to buy for home, plus expertise in mixing drinks.

But cocktails here are frequently over $10. It's all ambience. If the dude has got the only bar on the ship, it's a captive audience.

Oh, I think one of my favorite parts of DS9 was the Quark & Odo Show. Plus Rom and Nag. And the Miles and Keiko Show.

Okay, I frelling loved all of it. But the Cardassian characters were particularly enjoyable. I loved the ep when they accidentally set off an old Cardie security program that thought the Bajoran slaves were uprising, and Gul Dukat showed up to for the stay and gloat thing, only to have it bite him on the ass.
