Boxed Set, Vol. 1: Smallville, Due South, Farscape
A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much anything else that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
is there something going on between Odo and Kira? There is a weird vibe, especially from Odo. Subtle bit of pining at least. And my mind is going all, whee! Bajoran/a big blob of jello smut!
Just a leetle bit. They do go back a ways. How badly do you want to be spoiled?
Well, If you're talking about the episode with the flashback in which they meet--"Necessary Evil", I think--I saw that yesterday. I thought to myself wow, what an interesting friendship these two have. I particularly liked the grayness of the ending.
I'm watching "The Collaborator" at the moment, and just now, Odo totally made a little heartbreak-shock face (that is, as much of a face as he could make) when Kira confessed her love for the Vedek dude.
Ah, DS9. My fave of the new generation Treks; you have some good stuff coming your way. So much arc-y goodness, such great characters and actors, so many different threads to follow through the seasons. (I'll have to queue that up in Netflix for reviewing at some point.) And you are reading the vibe right.
And speaking of Netflix ... I've got more Farscape, I've got more Farscape (tra-la-la-la-la). I'm off to watch it very, very soon. I love having good, unwatched showage. Makes me tingly.

Yup. It really isn't even subtext. Odo's smitten.
The Gloops? That was one of the first Sealabs I ever saw.
"Hail, Squishface!!!" Loved that episode.
DS9 was the crown jewel of the Treks. I loved TNG at the time (and grew up on TOS), but on re-watch, especially post-ME shows, I find it...lacking. I mean, Patrick Stewart! What's not to love there. But still, DS9 - I can't think of a regular character or actor who I didn't really enjoy at some point, if not always. Even Jake Sisco, who seemed to flounder for a couple of years there, was wonderful because he was basically the anti-Wes (as in Crusher).
DS9 got mystical right off the bat. Even though it took a second or two to get anti-TNG (which I thought I'd loved, but really it was gems I loved) and for Sisko to get properly bald, much props to keeping Bajoran religion so important throughout.
Though the money confuses me (which is really a sign that the universal translator issues have bored me). You go down to Quark's and pay money for food from the same replicator system that you have in your room? His ambience is that good?
Yeah, that doesn't work either. But I think they should write it.
Don't be eyeing me. Eye Dana, if you have to eye anyone. I don't even watch Stargate, and these days, I can't even write a grocery list.
No, no, let's not point any fingers. I'm not writing any Stargate. I barely admit to reading it.
Of course, if someone wanted to write something *for* me, I wouldn't complain.
Odo's smitten.
Poor Odo. I like Kira, but I dunno... I feel like she's not complex enough for him or something. But then, maybe he likes her for her forthright passions.
Rene Aubergonois can do marvellous things with his voice. It's a bit of a wonder how expressive he can be using with only his eyes and his voice, what with his entire face hidden behind a rubber mask. I think Odo might be my favorite character of the lot.

Heh. Give it time, my dear. All you need is a bad luck of the draw in a multifandom flashfic-a-thon or another (there are so many of those things nowadays, I can't keep them straight), and there it'll be, staring at your face. Or you may be dog-dared by someone to write SG fic, and you shall have no choice but to rise to the challenge, with your reputation as a multifandom crack-ho at stake. Oh yes. Because Stargate eats you, starting from the bottom! MHWAHAHAHA!!

Too much?

I love DS9. It was the first scifi show that I really considered myself a fan for.
I bet there is a lot of badfic.
There is, but it's unfortunately not proportionate to the good fic like in other fandoms. Not very many (read: any) good writers are in the fandom, which is even fewer now that its been over for a few years. It's kind of depressing.

I think Quark's covered stuff that couldn't be replicated well, and gave a place for everyone to interact that they didn't mind spending their money. Or something. It's hard to retcon.
