Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

Katie & Vonnie, did you see? K/infinitemonkeys wants to know what episodes to watch/procure/purchase. Sigh.

Heh. Been there & done that already.

We are, like, The Borg or something.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Is there a logic to the rings? You don't need receiving rings. Why are there some sometimes -- is that for ringing to a moving target?

I was charmed (albeit somewhat perplexed) by the fannish sensibility of many of the music choices -- it's like the director was trying to vid Canada. --loligo on the Olympic Opening Ceremonies

If I had to create a logic, I'd say that the rings either go to a particular set of receiving rings or can just go straight down a pre-set distance (which isn't very far) if there isn't one. Because we've seen them used in situations where there was clearly no receiving set, and we've seen people talking like they need the receiving set for the rings to be useful.

I have a plan.

Perhaps having a second set of rings helps with practicality and distance problems. A single set of rings has to travel from the start to the destination to reintigrate their cargo. Two sets of rings could work at longer ranges since they don't really go anywhere, they just play pitcher and catcher (so to speak) with a ball of energy.

I guess I'll just have to rewatch every Stargate ep ever, to see.

Question for Smallville lovers:

How would you like to see Lex go bad? And where in the series would you like it to be.

Way back upon a time I drabbled Lex shooting his father to stop shooting Clark. In that scenario, Lionel's gun still goes off, and Clark is hit, but obviously lived. Lex has killed his father, exposed the lie, and this sends him over the edge into consciously or not, following through his father's work.

But does comic Lex know Superman is Clark Kent?

How would you like to see Lex go bad?

Naked.

Oh. You mean like evil. I think the I-keep-marrying-evil-chicks angle is still his best shot. He is going to get into a relationship - and be all not trusty and suspicious. And do something horrible to the woman assuming that she is like his previous brides - working for his dad and/or out for money - and then it will be revealed that she really truly loved him and was wholesome and perfect. And somehow it will all be Clark's fault and then with the life long seeking revenge.

I like your scenario better though.

Don't know about comicverse Lex's knowledge about Clark.

I have a plan.

I think comicLex doesn't know, though he's probably come close to discovering it a few times. It seems to be a thing, with some writers, that comicLex only refers to Superman as 'the alien'.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

ita, I really like your scenario. The course of events is inevitable, but Lex's trust will be shattered. It leads to a medium-speed development from learning about Clark--> questioning their relationship--> questioning all his relationships--> becoming distrustful, unethical, and finally, evil.

This show isn't really set up for that kind of slow unraveling, unfortch. I'd like to see this happen ASAP, at the end of the season, and have all next season be maybe a little like this.

I don't trust them to keep Lex compelling once he's started rounding that corner, though.

I trust MR to do a hell of a lot, but he's been given short shrift (if only it were our shrift, and then he'd not complain) so far this season.

And having Lex evil means that Clark will probably end up spending less time with him and more time with Lana, and no one likes that possibility.

Agreed.
