I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Any other member of SG1 can get with any other. Just not those two. It's not right.

Don't make me find recs.

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

OK, I've just rewatched the scene, and all Hayes said is, "Well, if you'll accept it, I've got another job for you." I was on the TiVo delay so I got the "Kinsey! Fired!" post here before I saw that scene, so I made the weird leap that George would become the VP (with a dollop of wishful thinking.) On rewatch, I think ita was right; the job was to head the mission on Prometheus. (Damn.)

I was charmed (albeit somewhat perplexed) by the fannish sensibility of many of the music choices -- it's like the director was trying to vid Canada. --loligo on the Olympic Opening Ceremonies

Well, but he does need a VP now...

Hammond would have to retire, though.

I have a plan.

Well, but he does need a VP now...

Oh, I'm sure he'll get somebody he likes now.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Hey, when they unfreeze Jack will they remember he retired?

All is well that ends in pizza.

Would he? hmm, I guess. I know the President is Commander in chief, but since that's a civilian post, it makes sense.

Hmmm, I need to refresh my civics.

OTOH? President dies sometime next year and Hammond is suddenly POTUS? Gold.

Hmmm, maybe he'll take Hammond's place at the SGC, instead....

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

OTOH? President dies sometime next year and Hammond is suddenly POTUS? Gold.

Ya mean, when whoever was backing Kinsey has him killed?

So not where my mind was going.

And I don't think being retired necessarily helps with that.

Lord, let them not take him out of the field.

"In the equation E = mc⬧, c⬧ is a pretty big honking number." - Scola

Couldn't see Hammond as VP. I'm sure he's got the political skills necessary for his position, but the VP's really a political player, right? Don't think Hammond would want it or would be happy with it.
