I don't know how I'd feel about Jack and Sam getting together at the end of the series
Casual sex. One time. For me.
And then "Huh. Well, that was fun. Want pizza?"
And no more sex.
A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much anything else that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

The thing I like most about their relationship is that they didn't dwell on this all "Woe, woe is me!", like some middle-aged Romeo/Juliet or Buffy/Angel; they were grown-up folks with a lot heavier responsibilities than toward their own happiness.
I kinda feel like they've slipped on that this season somewhat, though. (I may also just be overly sensitive. Wouldn't be the first time.) To be fair, when the season was blocked out they were expecting Lost City to be the series finale, so that's not entirely surprising.

No, you're right. They needled the whole ship thing more often this season than seasons 5 and 6. I loved the way it was handled in "Grace", but the snide reference to possible J/S romance in both "Heroes" and "Inauguration" annoyed the hell out of me. Talk about unsubtle. The nice shoulder-hug Jack gave Sam in that... whatzthename, the 'Anubis' ninja robot chasing after Sam' episode--that was nice though.

Heh. Oh yeah. This would totally work for me. They'd decide, while sex was good, they like each other and their own independence too much to settle down with a long term relationship and mess things up. After that, there would be a lot of hanging out with the entire gang at Jack's house.

Frankly, I'm enough of a sucker for Jack-hugs that they can slip J/S right past my barriers that way. I'm all "oh no, they're doing it agai--aww. Look at that! Man, Jack gives the best hugs. Wait, what was I saying earlier?"
I dunno. I don't think I'd mind if it ended with her finally taking him up on an offer to go on a fishing trip. If, you know, Jack retires or whatever. And then Teal'c and Daniel, utterly oblivious, invite themselves along. And so you'd a get a meaningful ... curses, foiled again look exchange.
Ah, see, that would drive me nuts, because it puts Jack and Sam on the inside and Daniel and Teal'c on the outside.
They could totally wrap up with her accepting a fishing trip though.
And Daniel and Teal'c going along knowing damned well that the two of them were trying to run off for nookie.
Woo hoo! Orgy!
NOT LIKE THAT!!!!1!
OMG. Naked Daniel might touch Naked Sam, and I've been over that.
Going along to be difficult.

Double date? IJS (heh, kind of x-posty. excellent)
Seriously, though (well, as serious as I get about it), I'd like to know that Teal'c was then gonna, I don't know, continue to fight the good fight somewhere, and maybe Daniel was gonna go look up Sara or take a teaching job or something. Kind of like the way they all went off, did their own thing, and came back together in 2010 (even Jack, eventually). Except sniff not Janet. I mean, sure, if they leave it that the team is still an in tact, functioning SG unit as of the series finale, then no S/J. But if they break up the team in terms of the unit, then I'd expect them to ge their separate ways ... even if two of them ended up together (S/J). Then they could all get together for BBQs and stuff. It'd be cute.
