t massive geek nitpicks Crossword geek that I am, it bugged me that the clues for the Cryptic Crossword (which was in big letters at the top of the puzzle) were straightforward rather than, you know, cryptic. For those of you who don't do them, the clues in a cryptic crossword are little puzzles in themselves, oftentimes having the answer included in the clue as an anagram, or backwards, or somesuch. Plus they got the chemistry wrong, because the atomic weight of boron is actually tenpointeightone. An actual cryptic clue for that answer would've been something more like "Wrote up the atomic number of neon on the net." The atomic number of neon is ten, and you get it by writing "net" up (backwards).

Even though it wasn't cryptic, I did love the clue "Up, down, charmed, ___." "Strange" *is* the name of the fourth kind of quark, although I'm really sort of surprised that Daniel (as opposed to Sam) would know that.

I knew it. Well, actually I tend to get confused and wouldn't necessarily know it in order, but... anyway, he's TV!smart, remember? And it made for a great throwaway joke.

Of course they're not bowing to your threats, Kinsey, you've never shown that you have anything to back them up! He makes dire pronouncements, but since nothing all that bad has happened, people are understandably uncowed. I sort of want to take him aside -- "Look, Bob, the problem is that your threats are non-specific." The President certainly seemed to think there was something a lot more sinister behind Kinsey than just international financial interests.

I hope it doesn't just turn out to be undercover Goa'uld. Although I can't imagine who else would have the desire to fuck things up the way he keeps trying to.

My snail-like pace through season 1 Farscape (I can only say that once I get to about 1/3 of the way through 2, I have no new episodes to see, other than random episodes in 2-4), I just watched A Human Reaction. Must have been one HELL of a mind fuck if you didn't know what was coming (sadly, I've seen Kent McCord too many times on the 'Scape to think it was REALLY John's dad). Certainly makes John's initial reaction in Won't Get Fooled Again a lot more coherent.

Also watched the extra Gigi interview and she is so adorable. I mean, Chiana is pretty cute too, but Gigi is just so friggin' cute it's unbelievable. I think Anthony Simcoe may actually be closer to D'Argo than Gigi is to Chiana, which is pretty funny.
