And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

and IMHO a little handicapped by his pretty-boy looks.

It's true, and he knows it.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Yeah. The thing is, he doesn't have wholesome, All-American good looks that can indicate the Hollywood version of a guy's guy in television and film - you immediately see him and think "Calvin Klein underwear model."

Shanks-as-Spader-as-Jackson is just plain spooky.

Edited because who the hell is Spade?

Suddenly imagining Daniel Jackson hitting Apophis or Anubis with a snotty "buh-bye" as they foil his latest scheme.

Heh -- his first gig (right out of high school) was as an Abercrombie & Fitch model.

(Of course, "Poor me, I'm constantly getting offers to show off my perfect body for money" is about as first-world as problems get. If he weren't a local boy, I'd have trouble mustering up any real sympathy.)

Yeah, there are lots of people digging ditches whose talents as artists aren't being appreciated either, so the folks that make thousands of dollars for a few hours work and get perks out the wazoo in addition really don't have much room to complain.

All is well that ends in pizza.

Heh. Have you seen Wormhole Extreme yet? The Many Faces of Daniel Jackson spiel at the end is hysterical.

Wonderful and snerky ep.

Art Crawl!!!

Look who was at the Eternal Sunshine premiere!

(Also, doesn't Nancy Wilson look good with that swoop of gray in her hair? And of course, there were hobbits.)

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Jesus Christ, I love Vic Webster.

He's really talented, and IMHO a little handicapped by his pretty-boy looks.

Ayup. The writing for him sucked at the start of the season, and he had no place, and his current incarnation has no consistency, but damn if I'm not enjoying it.

I wonder if he feels the HoYay?

Strawberry disappointment.

The Jackson spile at the end does for scriptwriting what Russians did for doll-making. It was hilarious.

I think I may not have seen the whole thing ... or I'm just blocking this part of it (unlikely), so now I'm just doubly looking forward to getting the DVD. Sigh. Loves me some SG-1.

I was charmed (albeit somewhat perplexed) by the fannish sensibility of many of the music choices -- it's like the director was trying to vid Canada. --loligo on the Olympic Opening Ceremonies
