I was charmed (albeit somewhat perplexed) by the fannish sensibility of many of the music choices -- it's like the director was trying to vid Canada. --loligo on the Olympic Opening Ceremonies

What actually got me most was Hammond in that last scene with Bregman, where his voice cracks, just a little. Aww! Poor George! I want to give him a hug.

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

I knew what was going to happen, but what got me was how hard it hit everyone. They did a good job of showing rather than telling.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Don't worry, Katie! Cassie can now be adopted by Janet's Canadian cousin. The one who's a Mountie....

HA! Yes, that's an excellent idea. Why am I suddenly thinking of With Six You Get Eggroll?

Only with a little telekinesis thrown in?

Whitefont: She got better. Not that it wouldn't be funny to watch Fraser deal with a teenager with telekenesis, I expect. Not that I've ever even seen the show.

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

Aw, shit. I knew what was coming but that still hit me pretty hard.

The thing is, I really loved Janet. I loved her like I love the SG-1. I loved how fierce she was about the people she loved, her no-nonsense attitude, and how she kicked ass all around her infirmary to get her job done without giving a shit about ranks or politics. Whenever I think of the episodes in which any of the team member was hovering between life and death, it's Janet's reactions that come to my mind first; her heartbreak in "Entity", and how absolutely wrecked she was in "Meridian". Daniel's reminiscence of Janet during his 'death' in that infirmary scene brought that back, and it pretty much undid me. Man, I'm going to miss her. Wahhh!

Bregman really grew on me in this episode. The O'Neill fake-out was annoying and transparaent, but you know, I'm crying too hard to grumble overmuch.

The second time I watched it, I did tear up for Sam's scene with Teal'c. And Hammond's little voice-quiver at the end got me. And Daniel, Daniel broke my heart, poor dear.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I read the whitefont. Nooooo. Not that I am surprised, just that I won't see it for hours now. Sigh....

Geez. I'm crying like ... I wouldn't have expected to cry over Stargate. I had sort of pieced together who the deceased would be from some conversations here last week, but the way this ep was done, it still packed an emotional gut punch. They really did a phenomenal job on this one -- even the cliche naming of the baby after her didn't bug. Plus, cute baby. Kudos. Awwwww ... I really liked Janet. I'm gonna miss her. I teared up just about every place they were shooting for. And, you know, I'm sorry, but I'm a big sap, and I thought the Jack and Sam scene was very sweet. Oh, and Teal'c with the hugging of Sam? Awwwww.

OK, I've gotta go watch something to de-sapify myself right now.
