Boxed Set, Vol. 1: Smallville, Due South, Farscape
A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much anything else that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
But that's the thing! Jack gets the noble, stoic pain. Sam gets the brave-front pain with hair tousle, somehow never dulling the spark in her eyes. Teal'c gets... slightly Teal'cier. Only Daniel gets the "Gee, how ugly can I make myself look?" bits. Which occasionally reminds me of the over-eager thespians I knew in high school.
Oh, and while there are some episodes when I think his old haircut was better (particularly the ones where he seems to have cut it moments before they started shooting), on the whole I'm glad the Prince Valiant look is gone.
Great. Random double post. There was no reason for that to happen.
Hey, when do we get to see Sam in an altered mind state? Jack's faked going bad for undercover work, Daniel's gotten addicted and mememe (twice), and Teal'c was brainwashed into worshipping Apophis for quite a number of episodes... when is it Sam's turn? Jolinar didn't even do much.
Well, Sam is the all-time winner for Alternate Selves. And she got to be druggy with everyone else in Seth.
Teal'c has that horribly strained shouting voice he uses under stress. Drives me nuts.
edit: Sam got infected by the computer alien.
t perks up
Did someone mention Solitudes?
"I'm here, Jack. You can sleep now." Then, "It was a pleasure to serve with you, too."
t sniff
Massive soft spot for that one. When Jack talks about how he dragged his broken body out of the desert, thinking about Sara? I cry and cry.
For mind-altered!Sam....err, there was that X-filesian S6 episode I watched a few weeks ago in which she pretended to be Goa'uld (uh, Go'auld? Damn, you know it's been a while since you've acted fannish about the show when you've forgetten where the apostrophe is supposed to go) mind-controlled when in fact she'd taken the antidote. Then, there's the Entity.
So it is kind of fun, seeing them meet the Asgard and the Tollan and the Tok'ra for the first time, seeing Sam get possessed by Jolinar (who I always thought was female, for some reason), seeing Linea's first appearance, etc.
It is. Yeah - I had the same reaction, too (thought they referred to Jolinar as she/her). I liked Martouf -- he was sweet. Dead now, right?
Only Daniel gets the "Gee, how ugly can I make myself look?" bits. Which occasionally reminds me of the over-eager thespians I knew in high school.
Snerk.
I've started including one Stargate DVD with each Netflix round I order, so I can get this continuity thing down. I just finished with Angel Season 2, a lot of which I hadn't seen (and, man, was that fun!). I'm digging Netflix -- feeding the addiction, yeah, baby.
Heh. David Marciano (Ray V from Due South) is on NYPD Blue right now playing a loud, histrionic guy named Ray who's passing himself off as a police detective.
brenda, that's just freaky.

Oh yeah! "You will not hurt this one."
Jolinar was the one with Martouf, and Sam got Jolinar from a male host.
Jolinar just happened to be hiding out in that body. I'm pretty sure if it was Daniel or Jack trying to give CPR, S/he would have just as readily taken them over too.
Perhaps gender doesn't really matter all that much to the Symbiotes themselves, excpet to the extend of their host's compatability with a chosen partner's host body, gender-wise that is.
I liked Martouf -- he was sweet. Dead now, right?
Oh yes. If they kissed Sam, they're pretty much dead at this point. Jack got a pass, but then he only kissed an alternate Sam, so he got to die and then come back.
