Jen, sounds like you're in the situation I'm in, watching the Monday reruns. We worked up to the end of season 6, I think, and then restarted. So it is kind of fun, seeing them meet the Asgard and the Tollan and the Tok'ra for the first time, seeing Sam get possessed by Jolinar (who I always thought was female, for some reason), seeing Linea's first appearance, etc.
Boxed Set, Vol. 1: Smallville, Due South, Farscape
A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much anything else that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
seeing Sam get possessed by Jolinar (who I always thought was female, for some reason),
Wait, he/she's not? I always assumed Jolinar was male, and I remember being taken aback to find out that I was wrong. But I'm like Jen - my SG watching has been so jumbled that I could have misinterpreted something.
They have the Tok'ra say later that Jolinar normally took female hosts, so I'd guess they do end up calling her "she."
Jolinar was "female" in the sense that her mate seemed to refer to the symbiote in those terms.
However they leave the concepts very ambigious and never say for certain that the slugs have any specific sexual orientation, despite being in hosts that often do.
In one episode I saw a Go'uald either chose a female host or ended up in a female host and seemed pleased and surprised at what a female body was like, there was some discussion with another Go'uald along the lines of would s/he be distracted by the new body.
I can't see The O.C. 'til tomorrow night.
I can't see The O.C. 'til tomorrow night.
I think that's the case for most of us.
I've been disappointed by the lack of same sex host-loving in SG1, but I guess they're not here to be scandalous.
Was Jolinar the one that Martouf was involved with, and blah blah infatuation with Sam etc?
Because if so, that is...interesting.
Ayup.
Huh. Kinky.
