No, it's shiny! I like to meet new people. They've all got stories...

It's a remora, dimwit.

Considering the amount of car accidents they have, they probably use roadkill as the main source of meat. And now they could have Clark use his burny vision to cook deer right in the forest so they don't have to worry about finding room in the freezer.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Smokey the Bear will be very upset with this, given Clark's lack of control.

It's a remora, dimwit.

Prime hunting season is in winter when there's a ton of snow, so fires aren't so much a risk. This is also why all the fires hunters start in their campgrounds don't lead to as many problems as people who start fires in summer or fall.

And for none-winter, Clark could use his ability to move very fast to grab fish right out of the lake.

What is the rationale behind the timing of hunting season? Is it scheduled around the deer/moose breeding, to make sure the Bambis are of a certain age, or something?

Also, have we seen snow in Smallville?

It's a remora, dimwit.

It is timed to correspond to breeding seasons, which is why there are times of the year when only bucks are legal, and times when it's just does, and sometimes it's both. And I think the fact that it's easier to hunt when there's a good snowcover might also have some influence.

I don't think I've ever seen cold weather on Smallville, and Kansas can get pretty fuckass cold. Maybe the meteor fragments control the temperature.

Barging right in on Smallville talk, does anyone know of any good episode guide/quote sites for Stargate? I tried googling on my own, and well, I'm scared without the clever, articulate, and sane Buffistas.

Seriously, one site had quotes with the characters saying 'U R right!' or something. Ack!

I can never keep track of what is showing when here, as they started from season 1 on Space this fall, but later seasons play at weird times on a different channel during the week as well.

I thought a good comprehensive website would help me determine what I have and have not seen. And I want to confirm a great Vancouver shout-out quote from 'The Other Guys', a season six ep I watched last night.

So, thanks!

The Canucks? There was another shoutout in that one, and I can't remember what it was.

I usually use Gate World. But they don't mention the Canucks.

The Canucks?

Yes! I need that as a tagline.

I was charmed (albeit somewhat perplexed) by the fannish sensibility of many of the music choices -- it's like the director was trying to vid Canada. --loligo on the Olympic Opening Ceremonies

Gateworld is hands-down the best overall info site, but I think it's only got transcripts for S1 and S7 at the moment. Also no quotes.

The transcription quality can be a little eh (there's one woman who's really a lousy speller, though I shouldn't whine since at least they exist out of the goodness of her heart) and they're spread around. I usually just google on Stargate transcript (insert episode title here) and click though the options until I find one that works... and here you go. Is this the quote you're talking about?

Jack (wearing his hat backwards and sun goggles over his eyes): "So, T, who you takin' in the Cup?" (Teal'c looks at Jack.) "Lord Stanley's Cup?" (Teal'c's raises his left eyebrow.) "Hockey? Remember with the ice and skating?" (Teal'c raises both eyebrows, slightly.) "We went to a game last year?"

Teal'c: "Indeed. I believe the Canucks of Vancouver are superior warriors."

Thank you muchly Katie! I am fulfilled.
