smonster is also uncannily retentive in that regard.
'Objects In Space'
Boxed Set, Vol. 1: Smallville, Due South, Farscape
A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much anything else that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Same one I found, tina. And, yeah, we really are spoiled by the culture of Jossverse fans including ourselves.
Anyway, the exchange (and, are we surprised at all?) is the one in the kitchen at breakfast, where Ryan is talking about wanting to find some kind of extracurricular activity to go out for in order to get more involved in school. Seth has come in the middle of the scene, but before this. Anyway, Sandy says something like,
Sandy: What about Archery? The Harbor School is really good at Archery!
Seth: Archery, dad?!
Sandy: Or fencing!
Seth: Dad, your Jewishness has doomed me to a life of unathletic blah blah...
or something to that effect.
And, umm, yeah. Me, laughing my ass off. Like there's any big surprise there.
tina, did you see this ep guide for GG? It sometimes has spoilers, at least a few casting spoilers.
Heh. I thought of you, amych, when I saw that scene. Seth makes some rejoinder about picking something from this century I think before he blames judaism for his incipient geekery.
OH Amych. hold on. I have that quote.
I thought of you, amych, when I saw that scene.
Like I said, not a surprise.
Oh crap. I only have the punchline:
"Open your mind here, dad. This isn't me we're talking about. With Ryan here we have a chance to have a real athlete in the family. Somebody to achieve all that your jewishness has provented me from accomplishing. Hey! I always wanted to play soccer."
I just re-watched that ep last night (uhm me obsessive about the O.C.- no, not at all) - and still my mind can't recall the lines exactly. There's another part of Seth's line in there about them being able to have a real athlete in the family finally.
Thanks for the GG link, lori. No sight of Jane's next ep there either. hmph.
edit: d'oh. x-post.
Ooh, thank you, Kat -- that's the part I most wanted anyway!
a companion line that totally fits with it from an earlier episode is:
You're a Cohen now. Welcome to the world of insecurity and paralyzing self-doubt.
