Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Why, Emily! I'd be delighted!

Up with the sun

I thought it might be that Clark uses his super abilities to get information that other reporters can't, so while his writing abilities might suck, the paper's willing to put in the money to have someone else edit his work because of the information he brings in.

Dude, didn't you watch the Christopher Reeve movies 800 times like any good child of the '80's? Practically the first thing Perry White tells Lois about Clark is, "Not only does he have a snappy, crisp prose style, but he's the fastest typist I've ever seen."

Though I do think TW plays it as though your interpretation is more likely.

Y'know, they are working so hard on keeping Clark and Lana apart, that they have totally blown any idea of "sexual tension", "relationship tension" and even "these two people are hetero" tension.

Yeah, it is kind of boring. And unfortunately, it's just going to keep going on, and on...

Oooh! The rumor is that Bruce Wayne is coming to Smallville this season, right?. There's Lana's new guy

(Whitefonted for TV Guide-esque casting speculation.)

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

As long as he's Lex's old guy, I'll be happy.

John, that's fantastic. And y'know, you can actually apply it to a lot of fandom couples with just a bit of tweaking. Cordy/Angel (and what I loved most about that special couple, was how they had a bit of chemistry, until they were supposed to be in love, at which point it vanished into the ether), Max/Liz (yes, I watched Roswell), etc etc

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Perhaps we'll finally see what's at the root of his Michael Jacksonesque compulsion to take in young boys and dress them in revealing circus acrobat togs .

Matt, for a second I thought you were talking about Lex's compulsions, and figured I'd not only managed to miss an ep, but that it was the good one.

IIRC, Miller & Gough did say that there would be no spandex tights on Smallville, but they could be lying...

Art Crawl!!!

Perhaps they meant only on Clark? (But they also said no flying . . . and hasn't he been flying?)

It's a remora, dimwit.

No, he's just been running fast and jumping high, like the original Superman. He wouldn't have been leaping over tall buildings back then if he could just fly over them.
