Dani, you asked this of me in Natter yonks ago:
Megan, what do you consider a quintessentially Canadian first name?
Gordon! That is a very Canadian name for a boy. Gordon Sinclair, Gordon Pinsent, Gordon Downie... very Canadian.
[NAFDA] We used to get Buffy the day before everyone else, now we get Angel a week after everyone else. And Firefly every Monday!

My friend Joanne's (American) fiance has a theory that all Canadian men are (in some cases secretly) named either Gordon or Doug. He wants to get a dog (Basset hound, preferably) and give it both names.
Gordon Douglas or Doug Gordon?
Gordon Douglas or Doug Gordon?Wow, good question. I have no idea. My preference would be the latter. It has a better ring to it.
I like Gordon Douglas. It sounds more distinguished, and thus more appropriate for the basset hound, who always barks with a British accent.
My inlaws are gone. No blood was shed but I was driven to the gym yesterday morning for some peace and quiet. =)
Today is DH's and my 7th anniversary. where does the time go?
Gordon is indeed v. Canuck, if maybe a little outdated - I don't know any Gordons my age.
I know 2 Dougs and a Dugald, though. Also Bassets named Winnie and Cooper.
Happy anniversary, Megan!
Happy Anniversary Megan, and many happy returns of the day to Rafmun, too.

Our best man was a Gordon, but he's the only one I know personally.
Thanks for the anniversary wishes. I spent last evening in a dragon boat, and then having an impromptu dinner with Elena. So romantic. =)
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY MEGAN AND BRENT!!!!!
