Haha! I'll let you know about the after work festivities shortly.
Atlantic Canadian Monday Madness
[NAFDA] We used to get Buffy the day before everyone else, now we get Angel a week after everyone else. And Firefly every Monday!
Sorry I didn't make lunk, nor see you when I was fleeing the muzak.
Yesterday, I heard Everything But the Girl on the muzak. Oh what are they doing to the songs of my youth?
And why is The Cure shilling for cell phones?
I saw a magazine in Blower's STreet Paper Chase yesterday with Morrisey on the cover...he's looking pretty old.
He'd be late 40's now - or maybe even 50 - wouldn't he?

Ooh, you just made me think of "Missing". Now I'll have to dig the cd out of storage.
I found the Triumph bit pretty obnoxious, but I never like him.
Conan's apology was a panic.
While I generally believe that political satire is a good thing, I think a writer on Canoe.ca hit the opinion-nail on the head when s/he wrote that a US comic going to another country and mocking a minority peoples about their ethnic origin and language in a land where their status has always been at least somewhat in question is no different than if Mike Bullard took his show to Alabama and did skits in blackface while hurling watermelon at the audience.
Distasteful and unfunny are only the minor issues with that bit.

I guess the deal is that Triumph is always distasteful and unfunny. I find him continually offensive.
My advice to Quebec would be to not take it personally, is all. Not to not be offended, just not to feel singled out.
The big thing to remember is that many Quebeckers probably never watch Conan so they would have had no idea who Triumph is (other than a 1970's rock band with bad hair).
So, the snow has started! When will the wind?
