Simon: I, uh... I never-never shot anyone before. Book: I was there, son. I'm fair sure you haven't shot anyone yet.

'War Stories'

Atlantic Canadian Monday Madness

[NAFDA] We used to get Buffy the day before everyone else, now we get Angel a week after everyone else. And Firefly every Monday!

I see that the other thread seems to consider Ontario the East.

Most people west of Quebec think of Atlantic Canada as a big national park.

Thanks for all the fish.

See, BC is 'pacific', AB, SK & MB is 'western' ON & PQ is 'central' and the Atlantic provinces are, ah, 'atlantic'... Though, I suppose one could lump Quebec and points East as 'eastern'.

Manitoba is generally not considered central because, well, Manitoba is generally not considered.

I thought that Winnipeg was the dead centre of the country. And by dead centre I don't mean *dead* centre.

Socks are a running theme throughout the series. They are used as symbols of freedom, redemption and love.

Does anyone want to get together this weekend? There are several options - going out for dinner, meeting for drinks or meeting for coffee. Also, Nora and I now have the extended version DVD of Fellowship of the Ring, so if anyone wanted to come over to watch it, that might be fun. What do you say?

I'd love to, but I probably shouldn't. i have a big-assed project due in two weeks that we are DOOMED on. DOOMED, I say!!!

That said, procrastination was always my best subject.

Edit: 'Ouise, I was at your place of employ this morning.

Really? Were you at the workshop in the library? I noticed something going on there.

Good luck with the project. We'll still have the DVD when you're done with it, and any excuse to rewatch is welcome!

Yeah, it was a disaster preparedness and recovery workshop put on my folks from the National Library.

So are you all prepared now? Will you save us all when disaster strikes? Or is the training aimed at saving books from disasters?

It's more, what do you do after disaster strikes, to save the books.

Freezing is apparently very good for wet books

Ah. Interesting. I can see how that would work. I'll have to try it next time that comes up.
