Well, other bands know more than three chords. Your professional bands can play up to six, sometimes seven, completely different chords.

Megan, my condolences on the death of your grandmother.

Mecha, I didn't have to provide any more information after my initial application (except to bring my ROE in, since I applied online). Good luck, and I hope you hear from them soon.

I've been looking into becoming an actuary (well, an actuarial student), and I've been talking to a bunch of people. Today I found out that yesterday was the deadline for registering for the fall exams. This makes me cranky. I even started studying yesterday. Grrrr.

Thanks for all the fish.

Register anyway, the most they'll say is no.

The form was very clear - it said anything received after the 24th will be sent back. NO exceptions.

Thanks for all the fish.

Maybe they are just talking big?

Thanks for all the fish.

So, not just postmarked? But received? They are strict.

Very strict. It's on the same day, at the same time, all over the world. (It being the exam.) It's too bad, but I've only been looking into it seriously for a week, so it's not like I was ready to commit to it in time. It's still annoying and disappointing.

Is is just once a year?

Twice a year - the next offering is May 21. Places do hire people who haven't passed an exam yet. It's just that I was getting all psyched about it, and it is an advantage.

Sue, thank you very much for the use of your monitor! We won't be able to take ours in to be fixed until Monday. Is it ok if we borrow it until we get our back?

Wow, it's really cooling off outside. CNN had a little story about Juan heading to Canada and Nova Scotia. They said that when it hits the cooler water here then it should start losing steam.
